PAL In 1989, Capcom's new action hero, Mega Man, arrived in Europe! He made his way through levels, defeated bosses and took their weapons. He's got plenty of weapons in this game, too. His Metal Blade, for example, can be thrown in eight directions and goes right through foes! If it sticks in the ground, though, anyone can pick it up.

Notes

  • In Dr. Light's trophy, it states that Mega Man's true name is Mega. While this is true in the Mega Man 1 remake Mega Man: Powered Up (and Mega Man 11, which came out after Smash 4), his official name is actually Rock. This is corrected in the PAL version.
  • Although Dr. Wily has a trophy on both the 3DS and Wii U versions, his pose is different between versions. His trophy is the only trophy besides the fighters' alternate trophies in Smash 4 to have different poses in both versions. Wily's 3DS trophy depicts his pose when surrendering at the endings of the original Mega Man games after being defeated, while his Wii U trophy is posed identically to his official Mega Man 9 artwork.
  • Zero's trophy states that he appears in Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero. However, Zero's appearances in these two games are not identical to his trophy model, which is his model from Mega Man X2 onwards. In Mega Man X, Zero has spherical shoulders and lacks the Z-Saber. In the Mega Man Zero series, he and the Z-Saber have been completely redesigned.
  • Roll's trophy states that her second appearance is in Mega Man 2. However, Roll is never seen or mentioned in any version of Mega Man 2 up until the Rockman Complete Works version of the game (as a Navi support). Roll would make a small cameo in Mega Man 3 (which this title states her name as DLN-002 "Roll").
  • The Mettaur's trophy mentions a variant of the enemy called "New Met", despite no enemy in the series being named such. It stems from a mistranslation of the Numetall enemy from Mega Man 10, which is mentioned in the trophy description in Japanese, and evidenced by the "New Met" being described as "slippery".
  • Some of the characters that are mentioned from descriptions:
    • Dr. Cossack (Beat)
    • Barrell Caskett (MegaMan Volnutt)
    • Lan Hikari (MegaMan.EXE)
    • Geo Stelar (Star Force Mega Man)
