NTSC This little boxer from the Punch-Out!! series makes up in heart what he lacks in height. He wasn't afraid to take on the boxing champs, and he's not afraid of the Nintendo stars. In Smash Bros., he packs a serious punch. When his KO Meter fills up, wade in and trigger a devastating uppercut.

NES: Punch-Out!! (10/1987)
Wii: Punch-Out!! (05/2009)

PAL The little guy from Punch-Out!! has come a long way since his humble beginnings fighting the almost literal boxing giants. Above his damage display, you'll notice he has a little meter that fills up as he fights. When it's full, you'll see a flashing "KO" there. That means you can unleash a devastating uppercut!

PAL Little Mac always puts his best fist forward, especially when you use Straight Lunge! You start by charging, then unleash the punch whenever you press the button again. Charge it to the max and its launching power is formidable! Also, attacks won't make you flinch while you're charging or once you've fully charged the move.

NTSC Every great boxer needs a capable teacher. Little Mac lucked out with former famous heavyweight Doc Louis. If he's not eating his favorite chocolate bar or making jokes, he's sparring with Little Mac. He'll gladly take a knockout blow from Little Mac if it will help the boxer make it big!

NES: Punch-Out!! (10/1987)
Wii: Punch-Out!! (05/2009)

PAL Behind every great boxer is a first-class coach, and energetic former heavy-weight champion Doc Louis is Little Mac's. Now and then, he'll put his chocolate bar down, his game face on, and spar with Little Mac, throwing punches just like in his glory days. No one's happier to take a knockout blow from Little Mac than Doc Louis!

NTSC It's either very brave or very silly for a boxer to have a name so close to "glass jaw." When this French boxer takes a serious hit, he'll see croissants instead of stars. To his credit, Glass Joe never gives up—he's lost more bouts than most have fought in, and yet he never surrenders.

Arcade: Punch-Out!! (1984)
NES: Punch-Out!! (10/1987)

PAL Glass Joe might not sound exactly like "glass jaw", but you've got to admit, it takes guts to go into the ring with a name that tells everyone your weak point. Knock him out and...it'll rain croissants. Weird things aside, there's one thing you can say about Glass Joe: he's a man who doesn't give up, no matter how many times he loses.

Giga Mac Final Smash GigaMacTrophyWiiU.png

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U N/A

NTSC This Final Smash turns Little Mac into a hulking monster of a man. In Punch-Out!! for Wii, Little Mac could take this form by building up the gauge with some well-timed blows. In this game, it seriously powers up his attacks and makes him even faster. He'll completely dominate on the ground, but air battles are outside his weight class.

Von Kaiser Series Related VonKaiserTrophyWiiU.png

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ? G

NTSC The oldest boxer Little Mac faces, Von Kaiser is still a formidable foe at 42 years old. Despite getting a new haircut, he hasn't lost the habit of shaking his head before throwing a punch. Be careful, though—right after getting knocked down, he'll focus himself and launch a spinning punch at you!

Wii: Punch-Out!! (05/2009)

PAL At 42, this German boxer is the oldest on the circuit. He may have changed his haircut, but nothing's changed about his habit of shaking his head right before he throws a punch. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ? G

NTSC This classy Japanese boxer bows before every match. He's so polite, in fact, that he cues you to his oncoming attack by twitching his eyebrows. Landing solid hits on him will put him in a daze. He must have forgotten to eat before the match—instead of little birdies, Piston sees sushi floating around his head!

NTSC This passionate boxer from Madrid fights with a style reminiscent of a flamenco dancer. His special move Rose Flurry is a burst of hooks, followed by a right-handed uppercut. King Hippo Series Related KingHippoTrophyWiiU.png

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 300 G

NTSC If King Hippo was the star of Punch-Out!!, his size would completely hide his opponent from view. As it is, this big boxer can be defeated if you can just get him on the ground; he's unable to get back up under his own power. If you get through his defenses, you'll have him dreaming of his home on Hippo Island.

NES: Punch-Out!! (10/1987)
Wii: Punch-Out!! (05/2009)

PAL Do you think the spectators sitting behind King Hippo can even see Little Mac at all? This fighter's so heavy, he can't even get up onto his own two feet by himself! Knock him down once, and the fight's in the bag. You just need to wear him down, and before you know it, you'll have him on the floor dreaming of his South Pacific home.

Great Tiger Series Related GreatTigerTrophyWiiU.png

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 1000 G

NTSC Great Tiger is a magician and a boxer, hailing from India. He's worked more than a few tricks into his style, floating about and disappearing as he pleases. The audience probably didn't realize they were getting a combination magic/boxing show when they sat down! Try not to let his cloning trick fool you too badly...

NES: Punch-Out!! (10/1987)
Wii: Punch-Out!! (05/2009)

PAL Great Tiger is an Indian boxer and a skilled magician. He can float in the air, disappear, make copies of himself – it all seems just a little bit unfair. The audience might start to wonder whether they came to watch a magic show instead of a boxing match! Maybe they should just count themselves lucky that they can see both at once.

He's not just thirsty—that soda helps him recover from your blows! It's best to interrupt him, but he probably won't appreciate that.
