Talk:Corrin
- shouldn't we list Corrin as a lgbt character in the trivia? 172.56.15.196
- We could, but given that it's a rather minor gameplay choice that isn't necessarily going to happen, and it's not really all that notable anyway, I would say no. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 10:08, 17 December 2015 (EST)

- I was referring to an article here, as I thought you meant the same.
- It doesn't really matter, it's not something that goes in the trivia of a page like this.
- INoMed, I take offense to that statement.
Aidan, the Jolly Space Warrior 12:38, 17 December 2015 (EST)
- A character's sexuality in their home game is irrelevant to their Smash appearance. Thus, I don't think it should be included. Berrenta (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2015 (EST)
- Just what I was going to say. Either way, we don't need the trivia. DekZek, The Festive Fighter 12:45, 17 December 2015 (EST)
Before this escalates, and since the point on Bayonetta being the first third-party female character is allowed to stand, I propose that we wait until the DLC comes out and see if either avatar is clearly portrayed as LGBT in Smash Bros. If they are, we can mention the point. If not, there is no need to mention the point at all. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 12:50, 17 December 2015 (EST)
- Gender ≠ sexuality. Bayonetta being the first female third party character is important, but frankly, sexuality isn't. Aidan, the Jolly Space Warrior 12:51, 17 December 2015 (EST)
I think it would be a little more notable if the character was definitely of a different sexuality, since that would be a first for the series. However, given that there's probably a large majority of players that would not have their avatar end up with the same-sex relationships (can't remember their names), and it's overall optional, I'd say it's pretty pointless.
Also keep in mind that any avatar character could indeed be of a different sexuality, as they are a representation of the player, and if a homosexual person were to play the game that character would in turn be the same. The option to pursue such a relationship is not typically included, but it's still a fact (and Animal Crossing and Zelda don't even allow heterosexual relationships, so) ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Last I checked sky Williams (the smasher from Cali) was listed as being gay in the trivia section. Seems we should apply the same here, especially since we have LGBT representation in the game. 172.56.15.196 13:18, 17 December 2015 (EST)
That's a person, not a character. This trivia point is pointless and irrelevant to Corrin in Smash. Come on, guys... Aardvarkian (Talk • Contributions) 13:25, 17 December 2015 (EST)
Like really, this is as ridiculous as putting a trivia point along the lines of "Ike is the only playable character in Smash who is single but can't mingle in the Fire Emblem series." Aardvarkian (Talk • Contributions) 13:31, 17 December 2015 (EST)
That would be fine if you could find sources for it, there's sources for this everywhere. Being an avatar or not doesn't matter, commander Shepard is listed as lgbt on his Wikipedia and wiki page because it's possible for a same sex relationship to occur.172.56.15.196 15:05, 17 December 2015 (EST)
And we should follow that because...? Aardvarkian (Talk • Contributions) 15:08, 17 December 2015 (EST)
I'm not saying we should follow other wiki rules, I'm just giving examples. I feel we should include it because of the overwhelming amount of coverage this has gotten from sources. 172.56.15.196 15:30, 17 December 2015 (EST)
Why does that matter? Also LGBT receives overblown coverage anyways from many sources... Aardvarkian (Talk • Contributions) 15:45, 17 December 2015 (EST)
Point is, is that this has no business on a Smash wiki. Fire Emblem wiki, yes. But not Smash Aardvarkian (Talk • Contributions) 15:50, 17 December 2015 (EST)

- This isn't homophobia at all. Aidan, the Jolly Space Warrior 14:40, 19 December 2015 (EST)
- First off, Corrin isn't 100% gay, the player can choose what sexuality he is, making his sexuality depend on the player, second, even if he were gay, it's not like there's romantic subplots in Smash, making his sexuality irrelevant to this wiki. Disaster Flare (talk) 14:41, 19 December 2015 (EST)

- As a gay man, I'd say it's not notable to his inclusion in Smash. It's not an integral part of his character, as any support relationships have little effect on the game. Were he or she forced to marry those characters as part of the story and it were somehow referenced in Smash, it might be a different story, but that's not the case. Corrin's sword[edit]
What is Corrin's sword named? I couldn't find the answer anywhere and this page doesn't say.58.7.90.113 02:46, 23 December 2015 (EST)

That water/sword thing.[edit]
I was already aware that Greninja only uses his swords for 4 attacks, and Corrin uses water for few attacks. But that doesn't change that the trivia was true, right? Unowninator (talk) 23:47, 24 February 2016 (EST)
- It's true but it's dumb and boring trivia? Mario and Captain Falcon have fire-based attacks, coincidentally, they wear gloves. Who cares? MuteSpittah (talk) 01:16, 25 February 2016 (EST)
- Those two aren't the only fire-based characters, and other characters wear gloves. Unowninator (talk) 01:32, 25 February 2016 (EST)
- K you're missing the point. Yes, they're water-based characters, yes they wield swords, but it's makes for bad, dumb, boring trivia. It's a cool observation I guess but nothing we need to note here. MuteSpittah (talk) 01:34, 25 February 2016 (EST)
The Gender Trivia[edit]
This was the trivia point:
- While Corrin is traditionally depicted as female by default in non-Smash Brothers appearances such as in Fire Emblem Warriors, the advertising for Fire Emblem Heroes, and the official trading card game Fire Emblem Cipher; Corrin is depicted as male by default in both Super Smash Brothers. 4 andSuper Smash Brothers. Ultimate.
I find this trivia somewhat trivial, since only Warriors is the only game that predominantly features female Corrin. For Heroes, I find it much too ambiguous to actually state which one's official because for all events involving them there's always male and female Corrin as Focus. In my honest opinion, I believe we should just leave this trivia off until more games with Corrin is released. SugarCookie420 (talk) 15:17, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- Agreed, and Fates itself shows them in equal measure. – Emmett 17:02, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- While Fates does show them equally, Corrin’s only fully been in 2 other non-smash games. Warriors clearly shows her off as predominantly female. Heroes is a bit more debatable. However, not only did she receive an alternate unit before Male Corrin, she was also goven for free to certain Android players. Additionally, while both genders received an alt for the “Adrift” banner, the icon for the “Adrift” paralogue features Female Corrin and Camilla instead of both Corrins. I’d say Heroes features her predominantly female as well. I’d say keep the trivia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.181.102.188 (talk • contribs) 18:54, January 12, 2019
- For the Android point, if I remember that was just a gift for those people who got the game for Android during a certain period (which is how I got mine); I don't really see that as a strong point either. As for when they were released, both were released at launch. As for the Warriors point, looking into it I believe that Corrin is female in the main part of the game simply because the Awakening Avatar Robin is male, while both opposite genders are seen in some "History mode". I don't really think FE actually created an "official" Robin or "official" Corrin simply because both are "Robin" and "Corrin". SugarCookie420 (talk) 19:06, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- Sorry about the release thing. Of course both of the default Male and Female Corrins were released simultaneously. However, Summer Corrin (Female Corrin’s first alternate) was released before New Years Corrin (Male Corrin’s first alternate). As for the Robin point I’d actually say that every game predominantly features the male version more than the female version. While Summer Female Robin did come before Christmas Male Robin in Heroes, Nintendo didn’t even allow players to obtain female Robin until a month after the game released, and only in a special event where you could only obtain multiple copies 99.203.11.147 19:34, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- I still don't see how female Corrin's first alternative releasing before male Corrin's first alternative automatically states that Corrin's default gender is female. As I said before, I feel like there really isn't a set gender for both characters since both genders are supposed to represent Robin and/or Corrin, it just so happens to be that male versions of each character were announced before opposite genders for the avatars were revealed (or, so I remember). SugarCookie420 (talk) 19:57, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- Although female Corrin is more popular, with me using the female alt. We need it to be the default gender, like we have with Robin. Corrin Fan 20:05, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Your statement is completely out of the point of this discussion. We aren't discussing the popularity of one or the other, we are asking which is the actual official default gender in promotional and actual game content. Please don't put personal opinion or fan popularity into this equation. Mexi (talk) 21:07, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- If this is directed towards me, I may have gotten carried away. Nevertheless, I've already stated that there is no official word on the official gender of Corrin. SugarCookie420 (talk) 22:25, 12 January 2019 (EST)
- You’re right that there is no official word. However, as I was looking at the Fire Emblem Direct in 2017 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq1Xzycyp2E) out of nostalgia, I found an interesting detail when they announced the Choose Your Legends event. When listing characters, they specifically listed the female corrin. I’m not sure how much this means, but it does seem like to me that Nintendo is pushing female Corrin as the default everywhere but smash. 184.181.102.188 01:15, 13 January 2019 (EST)
As IP has asked for a consensus, here's the result so far:
Support: IPs (again, they may be the same but idk)
Oppose: Me, Emmett
Not too sure: Mexi, Corrin Fan
I don't really see a consensus so far, so I guess this trivia will have to stay put for now. SugarCookie420 (talk) 18:12, 15 January 2019 (EST)
- I re-added it in after looking through Corrin in Fire Emblem spin-offs, though with a few modifications. There’s a Fire Emblem Trading Card Game. Female Corrin has 22 cards with unique artwork as opposed to Male Corrin’s 13. If anybody wants evidence for both sides, here they are:
- Evidence for Female Corrin being treated as the default outside of Smash: Fire Emblem Warriors only has the Female participate uses her as the default, the icon for Heroes’s “Adrift” paralogue features Female Corrin and Camilla instead of Male Corrin, the end of the 2017 FE Direct used Female Corrin when listing several characters people could vote for in Choose Your Legends, Female Corrin was the only Corrin with a Heroes alt for 6 months, and Female Corrin has almost double the amount of unique trading cards.
- Evidence against Gemale Corrin being default putside of Smash: Fates features both equally, the second and third pieces of support evidence are extremely minor, Male Corrin eventually had the same amount of alts, and nobody really cares about the Fire Emblem TCG
- To be honest, I’d sy that Female Corrin is definitely treated as the default outside of smash. 184.181.102.188 18:27, 15 January 2019 (EST)
I think female Corrin is pretty. Do you? CBFan6 (talk) 19:56, April 30, 2019 (EDT)

Actually, almost everyone continued to play Smash 4 after Corrin's reveal, which was in 2015. Most people who ended up quitting did so mid-2018 when Ultimate was on the horizon. Whatever the case is, don't add this to the page as it falls under speculation. CookiesCreme 20:16, June 20, 2020 (EDT)
