Why are there ad's on the page? 97.121.184.176 13:28, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

Because servers aren't free. Get an account and most of them go away. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:38, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

Article on SmashWiki itself[edit]

So Wikipedia, in addition to having its About page, also has an encyclopedic article on itself. Should we have an article about SW separate from this one? Miles (talk) 21:21, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Not really since we're not that important to the Smash community and Wikipedia is very common and well-known in general, hence why it has its own article on its site.Smoreking(T) (c) 22:58, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Smoreking - we're probably not notable enough. :D PenguinofDeath 23:55, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
Are we just not that notable enough? There are plenty of other reasons that we are notable, but I'm not going to write an essay about them: Here are a few:
  • This is the Smash Bros Wiki, and it is a large community collaboration.
  • We are very active, and continue to expand to become one of the most concise resources for the Super Smash Bros Series. (the reason why new pages, sections, and facts are added constantly)
  • We continue to work on the project to make it easy to use for all (the reason why we all are editing the pages so often).
  • We are easily accessible to anyone (otherwise we wouldn't be one of the first results when you Google Super Smash Bros Brawl)
Any more ideas? RAN1domchupunch!!99 00:40, October 2, 2009 (UTC)
If you're calling Smash Wiki not notable, you're calling the Smash World Forums not notable. Go to their site, and click on link at the top that says "wiki", and guess what site you're directed at. We need to have an article on ourselves. 98.117.158.220 02:35, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

Higher quality render intended to replace current logo was never implemented?[edit]

One thing that has bothered me for a while is that the logo featured in the top left corner of the site is actually quite a low quality render, which is exposed by zooming in on it to find that no resolution upgrade occurs upon doing so (since the image is already in its maximum resolution at default zoom). However I was recently shocked to find a noticeably higher quality render of the image right here on the wiki, but there is also a much lower quality render here, which is the one in use both on the SmashWiki About page and the top left corner of the site. What was even more shocking is when I looked into it, I found that a vote was actually held in which the higher quality render won by a landslide (17 votes for the high render as opposed to just 6 votes for keeping the low one). In fact the top of the archived page even states "Proposal D is chosen: Proposal D has majority in three statistical categories.", yet despite this, the low quality render is still the one in use. Was there a development that later occured wherein we were unable to update to the higher quality render, or did we simply never actually get round to implementing it? This is a MediaWiki issue, actually. The system refuses to resize the site logo (the top left one), and since the higher quality one is bigger, we can't use it. Serpent SKSig.png King 07:35, 10 April 2018 (EDT)
In addition, the vote page you linked to lists "Wiki.png" as the "current logo", which was of course overwritten once the new logo was selected, hence your confusion. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Trumpeteer 07:36, 10 April 2018 (EDT)

I need my user page[edit]

I signed up 3 days ago but I didn't have a user page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SSB1040 (talkcontribs) 11:47, August 1, 2019

You can't create pages until you are autoconfirmed, which is when you have made 10 edits and have an account that's a week old. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 11:50, August 1, 2019 (EDT)
Additionally, questions like this should go on the FAQ talk page rather than here. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 12:17, August 1, 2019 (EDT)
