During the development of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, several spirits received changes due to updates, Challenger Packs, or purchaseable Mii Costumes.

Trivia

• Prior to version 8.0.0, the Ryo Sakazaki spirit battle did not use the Mii Costume, even if it was downloaded.
• Although there are corresponding Mii outfits, some spirit battles have not been changed. These include the Tails, MegaMan.EXE, Zero, X, Rex, Squid Sisters, Veronica (in the Hero's Comrades spirit), Bomberman, Akira, Iori Yagami, Nakoruru, and Geno battles.
