Staryu

Staryu (ヒトデマン, Hitodeman in Japanese language versions) is a Pokémon that comes out of a Poké Ball.

Appearance

Staryu is a five-sided star. Staryu is all gold with a red jewel in the center. Staryu is able to attack other Pokémon through it's red jewel. Staryu can also release water from the top point on its head.

Role

Staryu appears as a Pokémon in Melee and Brawl and appears out of Poké Ball. Staryu's attack is similar to the attacks of Starmie. It will fly around the screen to find another character to shoot at. Once it stops moving and targets a character, Staryu will start to use Swift. Staryu will not move once it starts using Swift. Any character that makes contact with Swift will take damage. Any character can also take damage if they touch Staryu while it's using Swift attack. Staryu's attack does not harm the summoner.
