Talk:Piranha Plant void glitch
Merge
The freeze glitch linked only pertains to Ice Climbers, while this is for Piranha Plant and Ganondorf. I don't believe we should merge unless there's a page dedicated to all freeze glitches, which in that case both articles should be merged there. Therefore, I oppose. - I don't see anything wrong with rewriting the Freeze glitch page in this case as a blanket statement for all variants of freeze glitches. It'd be more sensible than having multiple pages for obscure variants of them. F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 18:23, April 24, 2019 (EDT)
- I can second that, we can rewrite the freeze glitch page and add along new information pertaining to other characters now that the freeze glitch isn't exclusively from Ice Climbers. Eletro (talk) 17:55, June 22, 2019 (EDT)
- I agree that we could do with an article that is a blanket for this type of glitch. This one really doesn't need to be its own article (On a related note, I see people keep making pages for nearly every major glitch in Ultimate. It really isn't all that necessary to do so unless you're describing it in detail, like the Z axis glitch).- EndGenuity (talk) 17:59, August 13, 2019 (EDT)
Oppose. The mechanics of the glitch are very different from the Ice Climbers freeze glitch (requires an extra character, three items, and most importantly, hitting the frozen characters once will undo everything). So it wouldn't really fit on a generic freeze glitch page. Since this glitch has been patched out already, and has so many setup requirements, for an effect that can't stay interesting for very long (you can't interact with the stuck characters at all without undoing the glitch), I'd recommend that it fits more on a generic "list of Smash Bros. Ultimate glitches" page with a short description. Zowayix (talk) 19:03, August 14, 2019 (EDT)
- Support moving it to a "list of Smash Bros. Ultimate glitches" page. Doesn't deserve its own page, but could compliment another page for sure. Crazy456Rhino (talk) 12:00, January 17, 2020 (EST)
Oppose. This glitch is super different to the Freeze glitch in so many ways. It's a variant for sure but way too different to be put on the freeze glitch page. It's just jarring by comparison and takes away from the significance of the original given how different it is. Either make a blanket page for glitches that cause hitstun to persist, a page for Smash Ultimate glitches, or leave this glitch here as its own page. --Plague von Karma 08:49, December 21, 2019 (EST)
