AfD[edit]

If being in a Smash Bros. game is a requirement for an article on SmashWiki, then what the heck is Roy Campbell doing here? -Thores 20:37, August 1, 2007 (EDT)

He appeared in the first SSBB trailer. WaluigiIsAwesome 16:01, August 3, 2007 (EDT)
And therefore, Roy Campbell is significant to the Smash Bros. community for reasons described in his article. Contrarily (sp?), Krystal has not made any appearance in either a Smash Bros game or anything else, so there shouldn't be an article about her yet; theoretically, if Krystal makes no appearance in SSBB, but if SSBB has a manga series or something where she does appear in, that's grounds for an article about her nontheless.
I guess that means we should revise the policy to state that "being in Smash Bros. media of any sort is a requirement for an article on SmashWiki", and the first SSBB trailer was definitely a major subject to the Smash Bros. community as a whole. Erik the Appreciator 16:15, August 3, 2007 (EDT)
Roy Campbell appeared in the first trailer, and should keep his article. Krystal hasn't made a Smash appearance yet, therefore she should not have a article (unless she makes it into the series later on). Johnknight1|Johnknight1 8:39, August 5, 2007 (EDT)

Since no administrator has come up to delete this, I'll go ahead and redirect this page to the Star Fox (universe) page for the time being, until she is confirmed to be in a SSB game. Magiciandude 12:13, August 15, 2007 (EDT)

Krystal[edit]

I don't Think that she will actually be playable maybe will make cameos similir to slippy. --Fandangox 12:05, October 26, 2007 (EDT)

lol spell check. That's what i believe as well, but hey, who knows. Amiright? --Janitor 23:23, October 26, 2007 (EDT)

JaJa, Yhea I suck in english, Wonder how many grammar erros this will have, and about Krystal where did you see that info of the voice actor? --Fandangox 23:30, October 26, 2007 (EDT)

Uh... Grammar..[edit]

This article is very confusing. The sentence structure doesn't make much sense. Taiketo 16:54, November 21, 2007 (EST)

I agree. I don't even know what the last sentence is saying.Darkurai 16:57, November 21, 2007 (EST)
I went ahead and rewrote the article. - EPX2 22:00, November 21, 2007 (EST)

Redirected again[edit]

Remember, she's hinted to appear in Brawl, therefore, she is not confirmed to be in Brawl. Like Sheik and Ganondorf, it will remain as a redirect until otherwise. Magiciandude 23:18, December 24, 2007 (EST)

Confirmed as a sticker[edit]

Do not redirect. Look for the Japanese Brawl tutorial trailer and you'll find a sticker of her. Magiciandude 08:18, January 17, 2008 (EST)

Sakurai's idiotic promise break[edit]

Why do you guys always insist on removing articles just because they have no significance? Krystal WAS technically supposed to be in SSBB. On Sakurai's poll, she got the most votes, even more than Wolf before he was announced. Despite this, Sakurai didn't add her, & now you're talking about deleting her article. I am going to send a letter to Sakurai explaining what he did & hopefully he will give an apology to those of you who wanted her in (I'm one of them).

her article should stay because she makes an appearance in fox falco and wolf's smash taunts|-|16#\/\/4¥ []D(_)/\/\|D% |_0|_7_ |\||_||3 02:47, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

No one is thinking about deleting it. However, I disagree that Sakurai should of let her in for the following reasons.
  1. While he may be the leader of the smash bros team at HAL, he doesn't have total control. This may not be his fault.
  2. Sakurai is under no obligation to simply follow your demands.
  3. Do you have any idea how hard it is to make a game? They can't just put in as many guys as they want.
  4. Do not ever call Sakurai an idiot again. Do you have any idea how amazing he is? Get this: Sakurai created Kirby's Dream Land, a pretty long and good game, when he was 19!. Beat that.
  5. Krystal is simply not a good character. She's only appeared in 2 games, whereas Wolf has appeared in every starfox game to date.
  6. Adding Krystal in, along with wolf, would put the Starfox series at 4 guys! Star Fox series has only had 5 games! Kirby series, on the other hand, which has had 20+ games, would only have 3 guys.
Hope that convinced you. 98.117.158.220 03:06, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation[edit]

Krystal appears a number of times in three characters' Smash taunts, and I believe people recognise her more from those than as a trophy. As such, I believe it's better to give them the option of finding the Smash taunt page by searching her name, if that's what they were looking for. Someone new might not be familiar with the term "smash taunt", and may use the names of the characters who appear in the smash taunt to find the page they are looking for. Mako Shark (talk) 20:24, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Krystal lacks the notability for that. Chances are slim that one would look her up here after performing a smash taunt (this is even considering the player knows how to perform the taunt), after viewing her trophy or sticker, they'd be curious and search her name. It is appreciated that you consider such factors, but said factors are extremely minor and are thus not noteworthy. BNK [E|T|C] 20:27, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
A disambiguation instead of a redirect here is completely sensible. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:26, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Disagree, she has a notable cameo on Lylat Cruise and has a trophy. Those are two possible redirects and therefore she should have a disambiguation page to the appropriate articles. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:31, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Also, I highly doubt smashers recognise here more as a trophy than from her role in the Smash taunts. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:35, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
I, too, doubt that most people recognise her as a trophy more than her role in the Smash taunts, but there is no way of proving probability of someone searching for Krystal in or as a Smash taunt versus a trophy. Regardless, she is notable in her role in Smash taunts, and is mentioned in the Dojo on the Smash taunts page. People searching for the Krystal trophy will find what they are looking for very shortly after they see the redirect page. Mako Shark (talk) 20:38, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
I suppose you're right. BNK [E|T|C] 20:39, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for understanding, BNK. Mako Shark (talk) 20:40, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Two things[edit]

  1. If we're all for making the artwork in the character box match their Smash appearance, then why is Krystal in her Command attire, when her appearance in Smash is based off of Adventures?
  2. The page links to "Krystal", but the talk page links to "Krystal (disambiguation)". Which one is it?

AidanzapunkSig1.pngAidan, the Spooky Dragon WarriorAidanzapunkSig2.png 09:26, 14 September 2016 (EDT)

  1. Doesn't she have a sticker with her Command appearance?
  2. Krystal, the talk page wasn't moved alongside this one by mistake AFAIK. It's fixed now. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 09:54, 14 September 2016 (EDT)
Yes, she does, but the rest (trophies, the other two stickers, even her cameo in the Smash Taunt) is Adventures. AidanzapunkSig1.pngAidan, the Spooky Dragon WarriorAidanzapunkSig2.png 16:06, 14 September 2016 (EDT)
Ah, I wasn't sure about the Smash taunt. I'll update the artwork as soon as I can find an image, then. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 21:44, 14 September 2016 (EDT)

Would it be appropriate to include this Trivia?[edit]

It's been found via camera manipulation in Super Smash Bros Ultimate that Krystal goes commando and her.... nether regions are fully detailed. [1] [2]) Is this notable enough trivia to be included on the page or is it too Lewd to belong on this site (for the record I didn't take these picks I found the links on TV Tropes) Skibot99 (talk) 12:07, September 27, 2019 (EDT)

On its own, no. I don't think it's notable to point that out alone. If that's how they designed her, then that's just how it is.
Although I think I read somewhere that Krystal actually wears underwear in her appearance in Adventures. If that's true, then maybe we can point that out instead?
As for if the trivia is appropriate for SmashWiki or not: if stuff like that can be put in an E10+ rated game with no problem, then I don't think there's much of a problem adding that picture. SmashWiki is not censored, after all. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 21:10, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
(Heads up, I edited your post a bit just to make the image take up a bit less space.) I'm not super sure it's notable since she's a anthropomorphic animal and there isn't any explicit detail other than the model bending a bit. It also comes across as a bit... pervy. Not inappropriate, but pervy. I don't think "If you pause and look under Krystal's model, you can see they didn't model underwear!" would fit with the wiki's guidelines at all. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 23:25, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
Understood. Have a nice day Skibot99 (talk) 17:36, September 29, 2019 (EDT)
As disgusting as this is, I honestly think it is interesting if the team didn't model underwear if she wears it in Adventures (which she does). As long as we don't go into explicit or perverted detail (like calling it an easter egg or flashing), it should be fine. 72.203.118.154 03:23, January 9, 2020 (EST)
Time to bring my two cents here: It's certainly not an easter egg. It's pretty usual for artists not to model parts of a 3D element that aren't suppose to be seen. On top of being more work for the artist, adding such polygons will also pointlessly increase the render duration, even if you don't see them. So Krystal's underwear isn't there very likely because the artist who modeled her hadn't been told that her loincloth would be animated throught physics. Simply said: it's a mistake, not something done on purpose (and it could be fixed in a later update). YoshiRyu (talk) 09:13, January 9, 2020 (EST)
Then explain the heart shaped area directly above what is clearly a closed vulva. [3] This was no mistake. HenryP (talk) 12:32, January 9, 2020 (EST)
That's not a vulva, it's the model bending. You're seeing what you want to see. Please, for goodness' sake, drop it. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 16:10, January 9, 2020 (EST)
What Serena said. There's nothing there, it's the result of the model not being smoothed over because it doesn't need to be. You can probably find this on a few other characters, but the focus here is Krystal. The only thing "special" here is someone clearly has a thing for this character, and it's not the devs. Alex95 (talk) 16:25, January 9, 2020 (EST)
I don't think so. If I had "something special" for the character, I'd keep this to myself, because it's inappropriate for this kind of game. That's how perverts act: they hide their nonsense in plain sight. And no, the heart shape is not a bent model: it's clearly a texture, and it's there in whatever lighting conditions. HenryP (talk) 16:36, January 9, 2020 (EST)
Don't throw stones in a glass house. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 17:52, January 9, 2020 (EST)
Let me be blunt: This is not going on this wiki so don't waste your time. SerpentKing 16:40, January 9, 2020 (EST)
SmashWiki is not censored. Or It is. Which one? HenryP (talk) 16:44, January 9, 2020 (EST)
It's common sense that someone would not upload anything perverted onto the wiki. That rule does not cover that. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 16:45, January 9, 2020 (EST)
This isn't about censorship. This is about appropriate content. Aidan, the Rurouni 16:45, January 9, 2020 (EST)
It is not an issue of censorship, it's an issue of false interpretation. The model was meshed together in an unfortunate manner, Nintendo did not put a vagina in smash. SerpentKing 16:46, January 9, 2020 (EST)
I checked and another heart shape is also present on her backside, so either the artist decided put an extra vulva on her butt, or it's just an accidental result. YoshiRyu (talk) 14:59, January 10, 2020 (EST)
