The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Forum:Adding an "Inspiration" column to Spirit Battle tables
Apologies if this is out-of-line. This came up in a proposal for something entirely different, and while I was a little hesitant, I figured it would probably be better as its own proposal rather than as a hidden discussion on an only-tangentially-related proposal page.
This topic came about because the only non-duplicate information on the "In Spirit battles" section of a fighter page (which the consensus seems to be isn't pulling its weight) is the part saying which characters they represent. That made me think that we could include something similar to that on the proper Spirit articles - except we didn't need to stop at merely who the fighters represent. Here's an example:
Spirit | Battle parameters | Inspiration | ||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
No. | Image | Name | Enemy Fighter(s) | Type | Power | Stage | Rules | Conditions | Music | |
40 | Blooper | •Tiny Inkling ![]() |
2,600 | Delfino Plaza (Battlefield form) | •Hazard: Low Gravity | •Timed battle •Gravity is reduced •The enemy tends to avoid conflict |
Underwater Theme - Super Mario Bros | •The Inklings will repeatedly use Super Jump, which mimics the sawtooth movement pattern of Bloopers. | ||
459 | Eevee | •Yoshi (×3) (![]() ![]() ![]() |
1,400 | Yoshi's Island | N/A | •Only certain Pokémon will emerge from Poké Balls (Eevee) •Reinforcements will appear during the battle |
Main Theme - Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue (Melee) | •The three colors of Yoshi represent Eevee's original three evolutions: Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon, respectively. | ||
776 | Dr. Eggman | •Roy ![]() •Metal Sonic ![]() |
13,200 | Green Hill Zone | •Bob-omb Festival •Item: Shooting Types |
•Bob-ombs will rain from the sky after a little while •The enemy's shooting items have increased power •Items will be pulled toward the enemy |
Green Hill Zone | •Eggman typically fights inside his Eggmobile, a round vehicle which somewhat resembles the Koopa Clown Car. •One of Eggman's most prominent creations, Metal Sonic, is here represented by a literal metal Sonic. |
These sections could also let us provide more general notes on individual Spirit battles - which could be useful, as sometimes not all of the rules and conditions are listed on the ingame spirit battle screen. Ahemtoday (talk) 17:22, July 31, 2019 (EDT)
- Oppose this is a wiki oriented around Smash; things like that belong in the trivia section. Also, SmashWiki is not a strategy guide. Cookies
