—Description from Ultimate's Move List |
Soaring Axe Kick (天地キック, Heaven & Earth Kick) is one of the three up special moves of the Mii Brawler. It hits the opponent into the air while flipping, then hits them on the way down with an axe kick [1]. It functions very similarly to Kirby's Final Cutter.
Opponents who are hit with this attack can potentially become trapped below the Brawler during the descent, potentially leading to a KO of both characters (due to the inability to cancel the move in this stage) if they are above an abyss. Additionally, if used below or beside a ledge while offstage, the move can also knock characters off of ledges (if they are hanging onto them) allowing for easy offstage edge-guarding and/or ledge steals. The Mii Brawler may go into a helpless state if still in the move's animation after landing on a disappearing platform.
In Ultimate, the move behaves in exactly the same way, but the downward movement is inputted manually instead of automatically going down, now acting similar to Cloud's Climhazzard.
Customization
Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:
