NTSC This king of the jungle really, really loves bananas. His adventures usually start with people stealing his hoard of them. In Smash Bros., he's known for his incredible strength and long reach. Despite his size, he's still pretty quick. He can even jump carrying heavy items! Use this knowledge well.

PAL With help from Diddy Kong and his Animal Friends, this banana-loving king of the jungle will take on anyone causing trouble on his turf. The best things about him in this game are his colossal strength, his speed, his long reach and the fact that he can jump while holding heavy items. Make sure you use all that to your advantage!

Donkey Kong (Alt.) Fighter DonkeyKongAltTrophy3DS.png DonkeyKongAltTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Donkey Kong pulls no punches when it comes to fighting. Or headbutts, as it turns out. His Headbutt special move will bury anyone on the ground who gets hit, leaving them open to some serious damage. If Donkey Kong strikes an airborne foe with this move, they'll go crashing downward.

PAL Donkey Kong's always been one to use his head. Anyone who's been on the receiving end of his Headbutt special will tell you that. If they're on the ground when it hits them, they'll get buried, leaving them open to a serious walloping. If they're in the air, though, they might find themselves being knocked down. Either way, it's going to hurt.

18. Animal Friends and Items
Diddy Kong Fighter DiddyKongTrophy3DS.png DiddyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Donkey Kong's trusty partner. He sports his signature look: red hat, red shirt, Rocketbarrel Pack. In Smash Bros., he's incredibly agile. Charge the Rocketbarrel Pack by holding down the button before launch, and you can steer with left and right. Don't forget to drop banana peels—enemies love it!

PAL Red cap? Red T-shirt? Rocketbarrel Pack? Yep, it's Diddy Kong. His agility lets him get attacks in quickly in this game. Fire up his Rocketbarrel Pack and keep the button held down to fly further. You can even steer him in the air! Tip: If you don't mind fighting dirty, make your opponent slip on a Banana Peel, then hit 'em while they're down.

Diddy Kong (Alt.) Fighter DiddyKongAltTrophy3DS.png DiddyKongAltTrophyWiiU.png

The Banana Peel Diddy throws when you use his down special can be picked up and used against you, so be careful. His Monkey Flip side special is a rolling leap followed by a grab (or a kick if you press the button again midjump). If you grab someone, press the button again to attack or jump off them to go high into the air.

18. Animal Friends and Items
Peanut Popgun Fighter Related PeanutPopgunTrophy3DS.png PeanutPopgunTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Diddy Kong's special wooden gun, locked and loaded with peanut shots. Power up the peanuts by holding the button, but don't get carried away—an overcharged peanut can explode in the barrel! Charging will improve the range of your shot, so keep an eye on your target as you prepare to fire!

PAL Diddy Kong's special wooden gun. Keep the trigger held to charge up the speed and power of the peanut ammo. Just don't get carried away or the gun might explode! How long you charge it for also affects the range of your projectile, so pay close attention to your intended target and make sure you time it just right!

Wii: Donkey Kong Country Returns (11/2010)

18. Animal Friends and Items
Rocketbarrel Pack Fighter Related RocketbarrelPackTrophy3DS.png RocketbarrelPackTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Two barrels modified into jet engines— throw them on and you're airborne! You can charge them up for a bigger, more accurate boost, but be careful while using these. If you get hit while you're powering up on the ground or zipping around the sky, you'll lose all control of this jet pack!

PAL Two barrels equipped with jet engines. Strap them onto your back and the sky's the limit! Use this contraption to boost your jump and control where you land with pinpoint precision. Just try not to let yourself get attacked when you're charging the jets or in the air, or things'll go haywire!

N64: Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
Wii: Donkey Kong Country Returns (11/2010)

18. Animal Friends and Items
Hammer Item HammerTrophy3DS.png HammerTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Once you grab this hammer, you can't help but keep swinging and swinging. Who needs special moves when you've got a hammer? And forget your second jump—use that time to deliver a second lump! Oh, but the hammerhead isn't attached very well, so watch out if it pops off or something...

PAL This is something you just can't stop swinging. At all. You'll do a lot of damage with it, but... you won't be able to jump in mid-air or use special moves, so if you fall off the stage, good luck getting back on! Oh, and if the head pops off, you'll be left waving the handle around. If that happens... man, you are going to look ridiculous.

NES: Donkey Kong Classics (09/1988)
GB Advance: Mario vs. Donkey Kong (05/2004)

Hammerhead Item HammerHeadTrophy3DS.png HammerHeadTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC A hammer is just a stick until you add the top. That's where this item comes into play. Sometimes, however, the top comes off. If that happens, just grab this loose part and throw it at your enemies. For some poetic justice, make the guy swinging the hammer handle your first target.

PAL If the head of a hammer should happen to fall off while someone's waving it around, don't let it go to waste! It's great for launching people, so pick it up and throw it at someone! How about that wally waving the hammer handle around? He's just asking for it!

Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (03/2008)
Wii U: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Spring Item SpringTrophy3DS.png SpringTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC A strong spring that can send you flying higher than you ever have before. If you throw this down while you're in midair, you'll get a boost and sail even farther into the air! Try to be careful, though, since this spring may fall on its side and end up launching you sideways instead of up.

PAL Jump onto this to jump higher than ever before! Throw it in the air, then land on it to jump even higher! Then use special attacks, or even do another jump in midair! If it's lying on its side, though, just bumping into it might be enough to launch you off the stage. You don't want that, so be careful!

NES: Donkey Kong Jr. (06/1986)

Pauline Series Related PaulineTrophy3DS.png PaulineTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Waaay back in 1981, a new action game using barrels and girders hit arcades. That game was Donkey Kong, in which Mario had to rescue Pauline from the title character. Maybe she wanted to look less like Princess Peach—she changed her look in the Game Boy version.

PAL One fine day in 1981, the world was introduced to a new action-packed arcade game - Donkey Kong! But back then, the girl Mario was trying to rescue from Donkey Kong wasn't Peach - it was Pauline. Also, did you know that in Japan, Pauline was originally just called "Lady"?

75. Memorabilia
Cranky Kong Series Related CrankyKongTrophy3DS.png CrankyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC This old man could teach you a thing or two! Cranky Kong has always been willing to share some words of wisdom, but in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, he decides to help directly and brings his cane-swinging style to the field. What a crazy old... Ahem. What a gentleman!

PAL In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Cranky Kong's decided he's done with just giving the young 'uns helpful hints, so now he's taking things into his own hands by bringing some much-needed cane-swinging to the fray. You just can't keep an old ape down, can you?

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
Wii U: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (02/2014)

17. Donkey Kong and His Friends
Funky Kong Series Related FunkyKongTrophy3DS.png FunkyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Has he remodeled his personal jet into a shop? Maybe he thinks it will encourage his items to "fly off the shelves." He claims he ran an airport once... Maybe that's true. Much like his style of conversation, I'm sure it was a pretty funky experience.

PAL Funky Kong's turned his private plane into a shop, all in some kind of effort to make stuff "fly off the shelves".. Classic jokes like that and the way he says things like "tubular" might make you think you're back in the 80s, but that's all part of his charm, right?

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
N64: Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)

17. Donkey Kong and His Friends
Candy Kong Series Related CandyKongTrophy3DS.png CandyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC It's no surprise she catches the eyes of Donkey Kong and Funky Kong. Just by glancing at them, she makes guys wonder if she likes them. You probably best remember her as the helpful lady who runs Candy's Save Point in Donkey Kong Country.

PAL You might remember Candy helping you save your game back in Donkey Kong Country. Both Donkey Kong and Funky Kong have just a little bit of a crush on her. Maybe one day, she'll notice one of them, and... Well, we're not writing a romantic novel here. Good luck to them both, though!

Kritter Enemy Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
Series Related Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
KritterTrophy3DS.png KritterTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Kremlings are King K. Rool's minions from the Donkey Kong series, and they come in both green and blue varieties. Green ones will try to bite you repeatedly, and their last bite hurts the most! Blue ones will swipe at you with their sharp claws. Neither really knocks you back, so it's easy to get hit several times by them. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U These enemies are part of King K. Rool's Kremling gang in the Donkey Kong series. Depending on their color, they move and attack in different ways. Sadly for them, Donkey Kong has a tendency to take them out before they even know what's going on. On a separate note, you can actually play as a Kritter in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast!

PAL These enemies are part of King K. Rool's Kremling gang in the Donkey Kong series. The green ones attack with their strong jaws, while the blue use their sharp claws in spinning attacks for powerful slashing. They don't have a lot of launching power, but their relentless assaults can easily wear you down.

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
N64: Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)

King K. Rool Series Related K.RoolTrophy3DS.png K.RoolTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Whereas Mario often squares off against Bowser, Donkey Kong must fight against King K. Rool. He's a big croc with a big attitude...and a tiny crown. He probably could have been Donkey Kong's most trustworthy animal friend. Think he'll ever have a change of heart? Not likely.

PAL This guy is to Donkey Kong what Bowser is to Mario. This crowned Kremling has a serious attitude problem. If only he could have been on of DK's Animal Friends instead... Maybe with just a little change of heart, he still could be! On second thoughts...nope. Never gonna happen.

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
N64: Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)

DK Barrel Series Related DKBarrelTrophy3DS.png DKBarrelTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Little known fact: the "DK" on a DK Barrel stands for "Donkey Kong"... What? You mean you already knew that? In that case, you must also know that hopeful feeling you get upon seeing one of these in a really tough stage. Break one to release a helpful partner!

PAL Did you know that the "DK" on a DK Barrel stands for "Donkey Kong"?... You did? Well then, maybe you also know what a beautiful and hopeful feeling it is to see one of these when you're toughing it out alone, all sad and forlorn. Break it and a partner will show up to lift you out of your doldrums and help you on your way.

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
Wii: Donkey Kong Country Returns (11/2010)

18. Animal Friends and Items
Dixie Kong Series Related DixieKongTrophy3DS.png DixieKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Diddy Kong's girlfriend. She loves to adventure with him. Her ponytail isn't just for show—she can use it to swim faster, soar in the sky, and even lift barrels! With hair that does all that, you can bet she takes good care of it!

PAL Dixie Kong is all about style and substance. Just look at her ponytail. It's not just a fashion statement - she can spin it to fly up into the air, swim against strong currents, and even throw barrels with it, no problem! No wonder Diddy Kong likes her!

SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (11/1995)
Wii U: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (02/2014)

20. Tropical Freeze
Tutorial Pig Series Related TutorialPigTrophy3DS.png TutorialPigTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC A mysterious pig from Donkey Kong Country Returns, he helps out if you're having trouble. He brings in a blue-tied, silver Donkey Kong to show you how to beat the harder parts. But who is this pig anyway? He actually prefers to go by...Professor Chops!

PAL A little pig who appears in Donkey Kong Country Returns to show you the ropes. If you're really stuck, he'll even get Super Kong to finish the level for you. "Tutorial Pig" can't be his real name, though, can it? Of course not! It's actually...Professor Chops!

19. Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kalimba NTSC
Krazy Kalimba PAL
Series Related KalimbaTikiTrophy3DS.png KalimbaTikiTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC The Tiki Tak Tribe is an evil group of instrumental Tikis from Donkey Kong Country Returns. You first meet Kalimba as he hypnotizes animals with his music. The top of Kalimba Tiki looks a bit like his namesake, an African instrument that is also called a thumb piano.

PAL The Tiki Tak Tribe are the enemies shaped like musical instruments in Donkey Kong Country Returns. When Kalimba first turns up, he hypnotises the animals with his music. Incidentally, the top of his head looks just like a kalimba, an African instrument. Never seen one? Look it up!

19. Donkey Kong Country Returns

3DS Version

Name Picture Description
Tiki Buzz Enemy TikiBuzzTrophy3DS.png

NTSC This member of the Tiki Tak Tribe appears in Donkey Kong Country Returns. It'd be really tempting to see what kind of sound that drum-shaped head of his would make. In Smash Run, they do a dive-bomb attack if a fighter passes below. You can bounce off their heads to boost your own jump!

PAL A drum-shaped, bird-like creature from the Tiki Tak Tribe. In Smash Run, they float around in the air, and if they end up above you, they'll suddenly drop down, right on your head. Jump on them instead, though, and you can bounce off and go flying through the air. So think twice before you tell these guys to buzz off!

Rambi Series Related RambiTrophy3DS.png

NTSC A longtime and trustworthy animal friend. Even the king of the jungle, the lion, fears Rambi's might. Mario would love a lift from Rambi, but he is all Donkey Kong's! His impressive horn can defeat enemies and smash walls, and since Donkey Kong Country 2, he can super-dash!

PAL Donkey Kong's trusty Animal Friend. They say even the mightiest lion would be afraid of him, and with good reason! Since Donkey Kong Country 2, Rambi's had a special move that lets him charge right into enemies at high speed. You don't want to be on the wrong side of that!

Expresso Series Related ExpressoTrophy3DS.png

NTSC His name is no joke—this bird is fast! Despite his size, Expresso is light as a feather and loves to glide through the air. In fact, he was too light to hurt enemies at first! He got a little stronger in Donkey Kong Land, and now jumping on foes is a piece of cake!

PAL Just as fast as his name implies! Expresso can't fly, but his running and jumping make up for it. Try not to step on any enemies, though, or he'll get hurt! Unless you're playing the Game Boy title Donkey Kong Land, that is. If you are, he can stomp on fiendish foes to his heart's content!

Squawks Series Related SquawksTrophy3DS.png

NTSC Squawks has filled more roles than most animal friends. Remember when he carried a much-needed light through the caves? Or when he carried the Kongs over danger? Good times, good times... Lately Squawks has helped by letting you know when Puzzle Pieces are near. So helpful!

PAL Whether lighting their way in the dark or carrying them through the air, Squawks the Parrot is a reliable ally of Donkey Kong and co. Lately, he's taken to sitting on branches and letting his friends know when there are puzzle pieces nearby. Quite the little helper!

Squitter Series Related SquitterTrophy3DS.png

NTSC Squitter is one of Donkey Kong's animal friends. It must take him hours to lace up the four pairs of shoes he wears... The spiderwebs he shoots from his mouth can damage enemies, and they also can make platforms to walk on. But can he use them to make shoe racks?

PAL One of Donkey Kong's animal friends. Shoe-shopping must be expensive when you have eight legs! Anyway, Squitter helps you out by shooting webbing at enemies and making platforms appear in the air! And then, when that's all said and done, he can put his many, MANY feet up and relax.

Mugly Series Related MuglyTrophy3DS.png

NTSC Mugly doesn't even peel bananas before eating them! Maybe he gets his yellow skin that way. I'm sure he's a lovable monster when he isn't controlled by evil Tikis. When he charges, his spikes go away—maybe so he can go faster? It definitely exposes his weak spot...

PAL You know how eating carrots all the time can turn you orange? If bananas have a similar effect, that might explain Mugly. His spikes retract whenever he charges, which is either a sign of his better nature when he's not hypnotised by the Tiki Tak Tribe, or just a regular old weak point!

Cap'n Greenbeard NTSC
Scurvy Crew PAL
Series Related ScurvyCrewTrophy3DS.png

NTSC Lots of vitamin C won't do you much good against the Scurvy Crew. These are some crabby pirates! Even before the Tiki Tak Tribe hypnotized them, these sailors were scary. Just look at that hook! Or that sword! Or that...fork? OK, back to the sword!

PAL Pirates...who are also crabs... Let's just sidestep that whole issue. These guys have been hypnotised by the Tiki Tak Tribe and are filled with rage! Having said that, considering they have a sword, a fork and a hook instead of left pincers, maybe they were pretty crabby to begin with.

Konga Beat Final Smash KongaBeatTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC In this Final Smash, DK drums on a set of bongos, just like in the Donkey Konga games. Press the attack button in rhythm with the circles to boost the attack's range and power. Enemy attacks won't affect you, but you can't move, either. Auto-scrolling stages will slow down but won't stop - don't get too carried away in the beat!

PAL In this Final Smash, DK drums on a set of bongos, just like in the Donkey Konga games. Press the attack button in rhythm with the circles to boost the attack's range and power. Enemy attacks won't affect you, but you can't move, either. Auto-scrolling stages will slow down, but be careful or you might still self-destruct!

90. Final Smashes 1
Rocketbarrel Barrage Final Smash RocketbarrelBarrageTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Diddy Kong's Final Smash is an attack on all fronts! Diddy takes to the air with his Barrel Jet, tackling opponents as he fires explosive shots from his Peanut Popguns. His Final Smash is nearing its end when he begins flashing, so get as close to your foes as you can - the Barrel Jet will explode at the end of this Final Smash!

PAL With a Peanut Popgun in each hand, Diddy showers his foes with a hail of explosive destruction. This Final Smash lets him fly freely through the air, dealing damage to anyone in his way. When his body starts to flash, that means the Final Smash is about to end, so try to catch your foes in the Rocketbarrel Pack's explosion!

90. Final Smashes 1
Enguarde Series Related EnguardeTrophyWiiU.png

If you combine this swordsman of the sea with the king of the jungle, you'll get an aquatic duo no enemy can hope to overcome. Like Rambi the Rhinoceros, Enguarde can dash to blast through foes. Does that mean we should call him the Rhino of the Sea? Or maybe Rambi is the Swordfish of the Shores? Hmmm...

SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (11/1995)

18. Animal Friends and Items
Winky Series Related WinkyTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC The Kongs have all kinds of animal friends. Mammal friends, fish friends, bird friends. Winky is a frog. He defeats those pesky Zingers by bouncing on top of them. You might worry about falling off that slippery back of his, but all concern will wash away as you are hopping through the skies.

PAL The Kongs' Animal Friends come in all shapes and sizes. There are mammals, fish, birds... There's even a frog! Winky's high-hopping abilities make him really useful when it comes to taking out those pesky Zingers. Best of all, you don't need to worry about accidentally falling off that slippery back of his - it just never happens!

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)

18. Animal Friends and Items
Zinger Series Related ZingerTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC It'd be a ton of fun to ride on a Zinger, flying high up into the sky. Too bad they're covered in spikes and not all that friendly to begin with. Zingers come in different colors, with the yellow ones flying up and down and the red ones flying in circles. We don't want to spoil it, so you'll have to play to find out what the others do!

PAL It'd be great if you could fly through the sky on a Zinger - too bad they're covered in spikes and far too nasty to let you. The yellow ones fly up and down while the red ones go round in circles. Want to know more? Go and check them out yourself, then. No promises you'll come back in one piece, though!

SNES: Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
N64: Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)

Wrinkly Kong Series Related WrinklyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Wrinkly Kong fist appears in Donkey Kong Country 2, where she manages the Kong Kollege. Even Kaptain K. Rool was one of her students at one time! Sadly, Wrinkly has become a spirit by the time she's seen in Donkey Kong 64. She doesn't let her ghostly form keep her from sharing advice, though.

PAL Wrinkly has been in the series since Donkey Kong Country 2, where she was the director of Kong Kollege. Even Kaptain K. Rool was one of her students once upon a time! She passed away at some point before Donkey Kong 64, but still shows up now and then as a ghost. Why should she let a little thing like death stop her?

SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (11/1995)

17. Donkey Kong and His Friends
Tiny Kong Series Related TinyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Debuting as a small member of the Kongs, she can shrink even smaller with Mini Monkey. Unfortunately, she hasn't put as much effort into mastering flying with her ponytails as Dixie has. Remember: these Kongs are trained professionals and perform stunts under Nintendo supervision. Don't try flying with your ponytails at home!

PAL She isn't quite as small as when we first met her, but with her Mini-Monkey ability, Tiny Kong can still live up to her name! She can't fly with her ponytails like Dixie can, but she can still twirl to glide through the air. Remember: these Kongs are trained professionals. Do not try flying or gliding with your ponytails at home!

17. Donkey Kong and His Friends
Lanky Kong Series Related LankyKongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC The comical Lanky made his debut in Donkey Kong 64. It's fun to watch him take out enemies with his long arms. His special ability Orangstand lets him walk on his hands, making steep slopes an easy task. When items are just out of reach, it's a good thing Lanky is so...humerus.

PAL Debuting in Donkey Kong 64, this is one ape who loves to monkey around. His long orangutan arms stretch when he attacks, which is always fun to watch. He can even go upside-down and walk around on his hands using his Orangstand ability! With such a useful pair of arms, does he even need those tiny legs?

17. Donkey Kong and His Friends
Stu Series Related StuTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC In the Ruins area, Gong Tiki puts a mysterious egg into a golden cauldron and then jumps in after it. Five seconds later, the newly hatched chick breaks holes for its wings and legs and takes to the air. When Stu chucks bombs from his cauldron, pick them up and return the explosives to him. It's only fair, right?

PAL Deep within ancient ruins, Tiki shaman Gong Oh drops an egg into a golden cauldron, and magically causes it to hatch. Out of the egg pops Stu, his wings and talons busting through the cauldron. He's got bombs in there, and he loves to throw them. Chuck them back at him before they explode!

Mole Miner Max Series Related MoleMinerMaxTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC The Mole Train travels through the Cave area. It's generally a hardworking train, but Banjo Tiki sends it speeding down the track. Chase after it using the separated carts, all while dodging the pickaxes thrown by the hypnotized Mole Miners. Defeat those critters when you get a chance!

PAL Hypnotised by Banjo Bottom, Mole Miner Max and his workers use the Mole Train and its carts to move massive amounts of bananas around. When a tie-wearing gorilla shows up to put a stop to the Tiki Tak Tribe's plans, though, Banjo Bottom uses the train to try and escape. Whack those moles and take out Banjo Bottom!

Thugly Series Related ThuglyTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Thugly charges at you after being hypnotized by Xylophone Tiki. The weak spot on his back is well protected by an opposite-of-a-weak-spot shell. When he comes to an abrupt halt, the shell will flip forward. At last, the time to strike! Thugly should really get some bungee cords or something to hold that in place.

PAL A charging monster controlled by a Tiki called Xylobone. There's a weak point on his large back, but it's covered by a thick shell, so can it even be called a weakness at all? Well, it doesn't protect him all the time - when he brakes suddenly, the shell flips open! Someone should tell Thugly to glue that thing down...

Colonel Pluck Series Related ColonelPluckTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC Stomp all night, stomp all day. Colonel Pluck has been hypnotized by the Tiki Tak Tribe to mash bananas with his Stompybot 3000. Looks like they're creating new tribe members with the resulting juice. Hopefully they're peeling those bananas... Nothing worse than leftover peel in a banana smoothie.

PAL He stomps stolen bananas into mush with his giant stomping machine. Why does he do it? Because the Tiki Tak Tribe are controlling him - that's why! They're using the banana mush to create new tribe members. Who knew bananas were so magical?

19. Donkey Kong Country Returns
Tiki Tong Series Related TikiTongTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC In the scorching hot lava of the Volcano area, Tiki Tong waits for Donkey Kong to arrive. It may look like he's enjoying a nice banana snack, but really he's just preparing his next attack: spitting banana juice on the Tikis! That's gross. Gotta get over how nasty that is, though, as the soaked Tikis join with Tiki Tong to attick- I mean attack!

PAL In the lava-filled Volcano region awaits Tiki Tong, the leader of the Tiki Tak Tribe. He liquefies a whole pile of bananas into goo, and then - instead of eating it - spits it all over his minions and fuses them to him! Ew! The Kongs'll have to hold off on complaining about how disgusting it all is - taking Tiki Tong out takes prioritiki.

19. Donkey Kong Country Returns
Pointy Tuck Series Related PointyTuckTrophyWiiU.png

NTSC These penguin-like foes from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze make up just part of the Snowmad army. The big horns on their helmets will make you think twice about jumping on them, and if they spot you, they'll charge at you with their spears. Slapping the ground stuns them, though. Take that chance to roll them into oblivion!

PAL When the Snowmad army invades DK Island in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, these penguin-like foes make up just part of its troops. The big horns on their helmets will make you think twice about jumping on them, but in the original game, you can defeat them by rolling or throwing barrels.

These walrus-like foes from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze have horned helmets and puffer-fish-stick weapons that make it tough to even get close to them. Wait for them to lift their sticks, and then use rolling attacks. After three of those, they'll go down. Alternatively, use Cranky Kong's Cane Bounce to bash them in the head.

This large sea lion from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is one of the Snowmad higher-ups...not to mention the ringleader of his own circus! DK and friends tussle with him in Lost Mangroves, where he attacks by sliding along the ground, leaping through the air, and generally showing off his circus skills.

While sailing the world in search of new lands, the Snowmads discover Donkey Kong Island. Viking-like thugs that they are, they freeze the whole island and take over. This small boat here is one of the vessels manned by minions. Lord Fredrik's ship, however, is MUCH bigger. Of course, it had to be — he's the Snowmad King, after all!

Trivia

  • Mangoruby is the only boss from Donkey Kong Country Returns not to have a trophy in either version.
  • Oddly, the official names of the boss Tikis in DKCR were never given during the time of this game's release. SSB4 is the first instance in which some (but not all) of them were introduced.
  • Diddy Kong's alternate trophy in the 3DS version resembles his artwork pose in SSBB. The only things that are different is that his lower body is mirrored, his head is mirrored, and his pupils are facing at the screen.
  • Both the Hammer and Pauline's game debuts in the Japanese version are listed as Donkey Kong for the arcades.
    • Additionally, the Hammerhead's trophy states that its debut is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, when it was actually introduced in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
  • The Spring's debut game in the Japanese version is listed as the arcade version of Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Donkey Kong's alternate trophy in the Wii U version resembles his Adventure Mode trophy in Melee.
