Dark Pit is Pit's echo fighter. His abilities are mostly the same as Pit's, but his hair and clothes are different colors, he summons different weapons, and celebrates victory to a different tune.

Dark Pit (ブラックピット, Black Pit) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed as a playable character on June 12th, 2018. He is an Echo Fighter of Pit. Antony Del Rio once again reprises his role as Dark Pit in the English version of the game.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

Aesthetics

  • Change Dark Pit retains his Kid Icarus: Uprising appearance. His clothing and wings now feature simple detailing, and like Pit, his eyes and hair appear more detailed.
  • Change Dark Pit's scarf is now the correct color.
  • Change Dark Pit's down and side taunts are performed faster.

Ground attacks

  • Change Neutral infinite's animation has changed. Dark Pit's bow no longer spins while fully formed, he now quickly slashes with the bow split in two.
  • Buff Neutral infinite connects better into the final hit, improving the move's utility.
  • Buff Dash attack's animation has been altered. Dark Pit lunges quicker, and the move travels further. It also deals significantly higher knockback.
  • Buff Forward smash second hit connects better, improving the move's utility.

Aerial attacks

  • Buff All aerial moves have reduced landing lag.
  • Change Neutral aerial has a slightly longer duration.
  • Buff Forward and up aerial have increased knockback.
  • Buff Back air sourspot seems to be removed.
  • Buff Down air hitbox is bigger.

Special moves

  • Buff Silver Bow travels faster and has decreased endlag.
  • Buff Electroshock Arm has less endlag when falling off the ledge.
  • Buff Power of Flight can now grab the ledge when facing backwards.
  • Nerf Power of Flight halts at the end of the move, reducing its recovery potential.
  • Nerf Dark Pit will float for a little bit after the move, but that means he will be more vulnerable to attacks.
  • Buff Guardian Orbitars comes out faster when activated.
