- At Super Smash Con 2018, MkLeo, Samsora, and Tweek take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles; Nairo, Cody, and Pelca take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Brawl singles; Armada, Mew2King, and Hungrybox take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles; SuPeRbOoMfAn takes 1st place in Smash 64 singles. MkLeo & Cosmos take Super Smash Bros. for Wii U doubles; Nairo & ANTi take Brawl doubles; PewPewU & SFAT take Melee doubles; tacos & Alvin take Smash 64 doubles.

- In the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, Simon, King K. Rool, Richter, Chrom, and Dark Samus are confirmed as new fighters. Various returning stages are confirmed, as well as New Donk City Hall and Dracula's Castle. Several new items, Assist Trophies, Poké Ball Pokémon, and modes were also announced.
