Yoshi (ヨッシー, Yoshi) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed on June 12th, 2018.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
- As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Yoshi's model features a more subdued color scheme. His eyes have been enlarged.
- Yoshi now always faces the screen regardless of the direction he turns. Because of this, his stance is now mirrored, and so is his moveset.
- Yoshi's pummel animation has changed. Now after grabbing an opponent and holding them in his mouth, his cheeks become swollen and jiggle, as if the fighter inside is trying to break out. He holds his mouth closed with his hands. He no longer crouches down to the ground.
Ground attacks
- Forward tilt has an altered animation.
Aerial attacks
- Back aerial has a faster startup.
