- I think the reason for why we don't permaban IPs, even if they are vandals, is because IP addresses can change. BRAWLS OF FURY 01:13, 27 June 2014 (EDT)

- I think the reason for why we don't permaban IPs, even if they are vandals, is because IP addresses can change. BRAWLS OF FURY 01:13, 27 June 2014 (EDT)
Or we could do this:
- Permaban the IP.
- Give him the ability to create an account.
- If he creates spam/vandal accounts, then ban his account creation power for however long you want.
- If we see that a positive contributor comes from the IP (which I highly doubt), then unblock the IP.
Try that admins.Qwerty the lord 18:05, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
- Ooooooooorrrrrrrrrrr not bother permabanning the IP. Vandals vandalize for fun, and if the person has nothing better to do than vandalize, than whatever. We just block them again if they come back. The repeat vandal has come back multiple times, and giving them an option to create an account when the person doing the vandalizing was willing to just occasionally drop in and vandalize is just a terrible idea when logically, they would just go and vandalize. Repeat vandals are surprisingly not that hard to deal with when you have rollbackers online very often. Permabanning IPs is also a bad decision because people can, *gasp*, change IPs. If some reasonable person ever decides to use the IP to edit, then the 3 month block is more than enough time for said reasonable person to have gained control of the IP instead. You're making a situation far more complicated than it has to be. If a vandal comes, they can be dealt with. MegaTron1XD 18:42, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
Johansen (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) - Blatant ZeRo hater. Has vandalized his page several times. Give this guy the boot. --Timson622222 (talk) 13:31, 15 July 2014 (EDT)

Excessive editing in userpageEdit
The user Smash is fun has made very few mainspace edits, and made a vast majority of his edits in his own userpage. Can someone remind him? Berrenta (talk) 15:12, 3 August 2014 (EDT)
- You can also warn him yourself too. It doesn't have to be an admin that has to do it. Dots (talk) The Piano 16:12, 3 August 2014 (EDT)
On an unrelated note, I wish we were allowed to report users who might risk getting probation as well, like we can remind the admins to probate someone. Dots (talk) The Shiny red nose 23:10, 14 August 2014 (EDT)
Move requestEdit
The official name of the emulator is "Project64k", not Project 64k as suggested by the article's title. As such, the page should be moved over Project64k.

Possible sockpuppetEdit
Luigi738 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) is likely a sock of Luigi7381 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS). The user is even using a tag he isn't supposed to use on his sock's page. Berrenta (talk) 18:22, 25 August 2014 (EDT)

On another note, tommy barnes 1 is only blocked for 2 weeks. Please change this to infinite. Rtzxy Smashing! 20:23, 15 September 2014 (EDT)
Protection request + sockpuppetry inquiryEdit
- First off, an IP and a user are currently involved in an edit war over Viridi, often by adding merge tags and forcibly redirecting the page; this is occurring despite being repeatedly warned of SW:1RV. As such, a block should be considered for these two users, as well as protection of the Viridi page.
- Second off, amid the immature conduct of both and similarities in behaviour involving edit warring on the Viridi article, I am led to believe that the two are one in the same. I would suggest a Checkuser be performed on the duo to see whether or not I am correct.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 19:23, 16 September 2014 (EDT)
- The only problem is, IPs can't be probated since probation is a user group and only users can be part of user groups. IPs can be blocked however. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is made in America 19:32, 16 September 2014 (EDT)
- Who says we have to probate them? A good old fashioned block oughta solve the issue.

Bump. Block the IP, he's just doing unfunny trolling right now.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 11:43, 17 September 2014 (EDT)
- I would advise blocking the user as well, while also adding a warning on his talk page explaining why he was banned. Judging from your previous encounters with him, I would not think he is likely to understand what he did wrong unless it is spelled out to him. He may also try to use a different IP to evade the ban, although the posting style seems distinct enough for it to be recognized easily.--Anothrgamer1234 (talk) 12:01, 17 September 2014 (EDT)
- He's now on his account, and he's continuing with the nonsense. Berrenta (talk) 13:21, 17 September 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, he's getting unruly. He's still persisting on having beta elements renamed, his sig was set to have a 500px image (another user had to size it down), and he voted in Smash Arena after he already did on his IP, and he is trying to add it back after both votes had to be removed. Berrenta (talk) 18:40, 18 September 2014 (EDT)
- He's now on his account, and he's continuing with the nonsense. Berrenta (talk) 13:21, 17 September 2014 (EDT)
- Can't we just ban him? Given his referencing of outdated internet memes, his persistence in useless debates, his constant use of the term "wikia", and consistent claims of not violating policies directly linked to him, all signs point to him just being an obnoxious troll attempting to get a ruse out of us.

- You're still blatantly disregarding the rules, undermining the wiki, flooding recent changes with pointless arguments, insulting other users, have gotten into many pointless edit wars, blatantly lying about editing from an IP we know you were editing from, and you've made very few actual constructive edits.
