Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Deanna Mustard's portrayals of Daisy in the Mario games were repurposed for Ultimate.
Differences from Peach
Daisy was confirmed to have some gameplay related changes [1] , but they are currently unknown.
Aesthetics
- As with all echo fighters, Daisy has different taunts and victory animations.
- Her entrance, and No Contest animation is different as well.
- Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
- Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of a red one for her counter and throws.
- Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack, instead of hearts.
- Daisy has different, more cheerful facial expressions for many attacks and action.
- Daisy has a different running animation similar to Super Mario Party.
- Daisy's Final Smash is similar to Peach's Final Smash, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches, and is themed around herself.
Role in World of Light
Daisy was absent in the World of Light trailer, though she presumably became a spirit alongside the rest of the galaxy (sans Kirby) when Galeem unleashed its beams of light.

Trivia
- Despite utilizing one in her moveset, Daisy has almost no affiliation with Toads—blue or otherwise—in the Mario games. The only exception is in Mario Super Sluggers, where a red Toad guards her after she was petrified by Bowser Jr.
- However, in Mario Strikers Charged, her Toad sidekick is blue, like in Smash.
- Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
- However, she is playable in the updated November build, which features the entire base roster.
- Two of Daisy's victory animations reference her victory celebrations in the Mario series titles Mario Golf: World Tour and Mario Tennis Aces.
- Daisy's pose for one of her taunts matches promotional artwork of her first used for Mario Kart 7.
- Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the last time being Lucina in SSB4.
- Daisy is the first Echo Fighter to be based on another female (being Peach), the second being Dark Samus.
- Daisy is one of only two newcomers introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
- This makes Daisy the only Echo Fighter with that distinction.
- Daisy's pose in the group artwork for Ultimate is based upon Peach's back throw animation from SSB4.
- Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
- Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
- Daisy's pose in her official artwork slightly resembles a piece of artwork from Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, only mirrored.
