Zelda (ゼルダ, Zelda) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
- Zelda is based off of her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
- Zelda always faces the screen regardless of which direction she turns, as such her stance is now mirrored.
- Zelda's idle pose is altered.
- Zelda is more positively expressive, boasting a cheery smile in several animations, such as her down taunt, her neutral finisher, and the charging portion of Phantom Slash.
- Up and down taunts are altered, with the former having Zelda wave a hand while forming magic and facing the screen, and the latter being a more cheerful, energetic hand wave.
- Zelda now hangs onto the ledge with one hand hand instead of two.
- Zelda has a new victory animation. She summons a flame out of her finger, waves it around elegantly, and then poses.
Ground attacks
- Neutral attack now has an infinite and a finisher.
- Dash attack deals more damage and knockback.
Throws/other attacks
- Zelda now swings her forward throw instead of being stationary.
Special moves
- Zelda can now move in the air when using Nayru's Love.
- Din's Fire no longer leaves Zelda helpless when used in midair.
- Farore's Wind starts up more quickly.
- She can also act sooner after teleporting.
- Phantom Slash has the armor constructing itself while the move is charging. It attacks differently depending on how long it has been charged, with four different stages. After it fully assembles, Zelda can move freely while holding the charge on the move.
- Zelda has a new Final Smash, Triforce of Wisdom, which is a trapping Final Smash compared to Light Arrow.
