Octoling (タコゾネス, Takozonesu) is an enemy and species of player character in the Splatoon universe.
Origin
Octolings are the Octarian equivalent to Inklings. The appear as enemies in the single player modes of Splatoon and Splatoon 2. In the DLC of Splatoon 2, Octo Expansion Octolings became playable, and could be unlocked for multiplayer upon beating the DLC. They were also playable without it if the player chose Team Octopus in the Squid vs. Octopus Splatfest.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
As a costume
Octoling appears as a Mii Fighter hat as part of Round 11 of Ultimate. The design is based on the enemy Octolings encountered in the single-player campaigns.
