Cyndaquil
Cyndaquil (ヒノアラシ, Hinoarashi in Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
Creature desctiption
Cyndaquil is a small mouse or echidna-like creature with a yellow underbody and dark blue upper half. As stated in the Pokédex, it is timid, and usually stays either hunched over or curled up in a ball. If it is angry, surprised, or attacked, however, it shoots flames out of its back both for protection and for intimidation, and the flames are most vigorous particularly if it is angry. However, if it is tired, the flames sputter with incomplete combustion.
Cyndaquil is one of the three starting Pokémon in Pokémon Silver, Gold, and Crystal versions (the others being Totodile and Chikorita). It is a fire type, and its final evolution is Typhlosion in the Pokémon games.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
As a Poké Ball Pokémon
Cyndaquil will hop into the air and use Flamethrower. Fire will be coming out of Cyndaquil's back. Anyone that is caught in the attack's radius will take damage. Flamethrower has a small attack radius, so it is easy to avoid. Cyndaquil can be KO'd by any character. If he is attacked constantly by other characters (including the summoner) or items, or is hit with a powerful smash attack, then he will be knocked off the stage. Nothing is rewarded for KO'ing Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil's attack does not harm the summoner.
As a trophy
Cyndaquil features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches. It reads as follows:
- Cyndaquil
- Cyndaquil frighten easily, so they're often found curled up in balls. When threatened, they flare the flames on their backs to drive off enemies. Cyndaquil was one of three Pokemon that trainers could choose from at the beginning of Pokemon Silver, Gold, and Crystal. No one knows if their eyes are open. (Pokemon Gold & Silver 10/10)
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
In Brawl, Cyndaquil did not return as a Poké Ball Pokemon, and has been replaced by Torchic.
