This is a list of meteor smashes in Super Smash Bros. 4.

Characters who have an attack with a meteor smash hitbox are listed here, along with each attack. As the exact numerical distinction between "meteor smash" and "spike" is currently unknown, this page assumes that Brawl's range of 230-310 is at least similar. This list does not include unconventional meteor smashes.

List

Bowser

  • Down tilt as Giga Bowser - The first claw swipe meteor smashes. When used on the stage, it buries opponents.
  • Down aerial - Meteors as it begins its descent.

Bowser Jr.

  • Down aerial -
  • Meteor Ejection (custom up special move) - the ejection part can meteor smash.

Captain Falcon

  • Up tilt - Meteor smashes aerial opponents at the heel of the foot.
  • Down aerial -
  • Raptor Boost (all variants) - Meteor smashes when aerial and above the opponent.

Charizard

  • Down aerial -
  • Sinking Skull (custom down special move) - headbutts his opponents into the ground. It looks and functions similar to Donkey Kong's Headbutt. However, unlike Headbutt, it meteor smashes at the bottom of Charizard when airborne.

Dark Pit

  • Down aerial - Meteor smashes at the center of the arc.

Diddy Kong

  • Down aerial -
  • Monkey Flip - If Diddy Kong jumps after latching onto an opponent, they will be meteor smashed.
  • Flying Monkey Flip (custom side special move) -

Donkey Kong

  • Forward aerial - Meteor smashes when Donkey Kong's fists are directly in front of him.
  • Down aerial -
  • Headbutt (all variants) -
  • Hand Slap - Using the move in midair results in a meteor smash with the second hit.

Duck Hunt

  • Down aerial - Both hits are capable of meteor smashing.

  • Down aerial - a quick stall-then-fall that meteor smashes during the first few frames.
  • Substitute and Substitute Ambush - The final hitbox (after Greninja travels the farthest) is a meteor smash.
  • Secret Ninja Attack - The finishing blow is a meteor smash.

Ike

  • Down aerial -
  • Eruption - meteor smashes at the tip of the blade.
  • Aether and Aether Drive -
  • Great Aether - The finishing blow is a meteor smash.

King Dedede

Kirby

  • Down aerial - The last hit meteors opponents.
  • Final Cutter - Meteors as it begins its downward strike.
  • Meteor Stone (custom down special move) -

  • Meteor Bomb (custom down special move) - The bomb meteor smashes any airborne opponents.

Marth

  • Down aerial - Meteor smashes at the center of the arc.

  • Down aerial - The Hard Knuckle from Mega Man 3.

  • Down aerial - All Pikmin can meteor smash, but the effects differ on each Pikmin.
  • End of Day - Meteor smashes when the rocket launches.

Pac-Man

  • Freaky Fruit (custom neutral special move) - The Key has meteor smashing capabilities for the short duration it appears.
  • Meteor Trampoline (custom up special move) - The red phase of the trampoline will meteor smash if in the air, or bury a grounded player.

Palutena

  • Down aerial - Very little startup lag. Has no sourspot so it will always meteor smash an airborne opponent.
  • Rocket Jump - The explosion meteor smashes airborne opponents.

Peach

  • Down aerial - Meteor smashes only when the Levin Sword is equipped.
  • Elwind - The first shot meteor smashes when first used.
  • Gliding Elwind - Both shots meteor smash when first used.
  • Pair Up - The finishing blow is a meteor smash.

  • Up tilt - Meteor smashes aerial opponents at the heel of the foot.

  • Down aerial - Meteor smashes at legs on the first few frames.
  • Header (all variants) - Meteor smashes if hit with the headbutt portion.

Yoshi

  • Forward aerial - Meteor smashes at the tip of Yoshi's nose
  • Down aerial - While the looping hits are still meteor smashes, the final hit no longer is.

Zelda

Enemies and bosses

  • Stalfos -
  • Geemer - when it's upside down, going into the spikes causes a meteor smash.
  • Kihunter - when the Kihunter swoops down, it can meteor smash.
  • Clubberskull - every time when the Clubberskull swings its arms down is a meteor smash.
  • Flage -
  • Bacura - hitting a Bacura will meteor smash a player.
  • Master Hand/Crazy Hand - The Power Punch is a meteor smash.
  • Koopa Paratroopa - the Paratroopa's attack is a weak meteor smash.

Items that meteor smash

  • Pitfall - When a Pitfall is thrown at an airborne opponent, they will be sent downwards.
  • Warp Star - During the falling portion of the move, airborne opponents hit by it will be meteor smashed powerfully.

Pokémon

Stage hazards

  • Jungle Japes - If a player touches a Klaptrap, they are powerfully meteor smashed.
  • Mario Circuit (SSB4) - If a player touches the upside-down part of the track while the stage is moving, they are powerfully meteor smashed.
