Entei (エンテイ, Entei) is a fictional creature from the Pokémon media franchise.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
Entei is rather prominent among its two peers, Raikou and Suicune, in the Super Smash Bros. series.
As a Poké Ball Pokémon
Entei is treated as a "legendary" Poké Ball Pokémon; its chance of appearing is much rarer than most of the others, but in return, its effect is more powerful. Entei uses Fire Spin as its attack. A column of fire will surround Entei's body when it executes this attack. Any character caught in the column of fire, excluding the summoner, will take damage, up to 72% if all hits connect. The character is also forced towards the top of the screen when he/she gets caught in the column of fire. The attack can be DI'd out of however, limiting effectiveness.
As a stage
Entei (エンテイ, Entei) appears as a stage that can only be played in Event 26: Trophy Tussle 2.
The battle takes place on the Entei trophy. With Entei's side facing the screen, the arena is pretty big. The fighters have a lot of room to fight on in this stage. When the player beats the event match, they will earn the Entei Trophy. The stage cannot be unlocked, and can only be played outside Event 26 with certain cheat devices such as Action Replay.
As a trophy
Entei features as a collectible trophy, unlocked when the player beats the event match Trophy Tussle 2 for the first time:
- Entei
- A volcanic Fire-type, Entei is hotter than liquid magma and as tough as nails. This powerful creature was one of the three Pokémon running around the Burned Tower of Ecruteak City. Entei is extremely difficult to seek out and capture, as it tends to wander all over the landscape, sprouting intense flames from its body. (Pokémon Gold & Silver 10/00)
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
As a Poké Ball Pokemon
Entei reprises its role as a Poké Ball Pokémon from Super Smash Bros. Melee in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When released, it uses Fire Spin in a near-identical fashion to his attack in Melee. Entei's entrance animation is much more intense than it was in Melee. Upon being summoned, it roars and stands on its hind legs before executing its attack. The new Fire Spin attack retains most of the same qualities it had in Melee, including damage. It can be seen as a more powerful version of Ho-oh with inferior range.
Trophy description
- Entei
- A Volcano Pokémon. When Entei barks, a volcano erupts, and it's said that a new Entei is born every time a volcano appears. A proverb claims that the warmth of summer is created by Entei racing through the clouds. Entei uses Fire Spin, a flaming vortex that traps and damages foes for multiple turns.
