Duck Hunt (SSB4)

Duck Hunt, which consists of the dog and a duck from the game Duck Hunt, are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. 4, as confirmed by a leaker's Twitch stream. Its artwork matches a previous leak.

How to unlock

Complete one of the following:

Duck Hunt must then be defeated at Battlefield.

Known Moveset

  • The dog does most of the fighting, while the duck flies around him. The duck is used for some attacks, such as their Up special.
  • Most of the dog's moves involve spins, bites and paw swipes.
  • Their Forward smash and Down smash involve a hunter from the foreground shooting near the duo.
  • Duck Hunt's up throw holds an opponent above the dog, which then kicks the character upwards.
  • One of his moves, presumably his Neutral special, involves throwing a tin can from Hogan's Alley, which is then shot from the fourth wall, causing it to explode. The explosion can also hurt the dog.
  • Their Up special involves the duck flying upwards with the dog in its grasp.
  • His three taunts are as follows: [1]
    • The dog lays on his side, snickering, while the duck flies next to him
    • The dog performs a frontal hand stand, while the duck negatively responds to him.
    • The dog stands on his back legs and does a dance.
  • One of their specials involves summoning a cowboy from Wild Gunman, who fires his gun forward.
  • Their Final Smash is a cinematic, similar to that of Captain Falcon. When activated, a flock of 8-bit ducks fly in front of the dog and duck. If they hit an opponent, a cutscene then plays where the opponent is repeatedly shot by the characters from Wild Gunman, with cans and ducks flying everywhere.
