Super Smash Bros. Melee winners USA Mango 1v1

EVO 2013 was a fighting game tournament, of which Super Smash Bros. Melee was a featured game. It was the largest Melee and smash tournament to date, with 696 entrants, over twice the amount of players more than Pound 4, the previous record holder.

A particular event that sparked outrage amongst the community was when Nintendo attempted to block the streaming for Melee at the tournament mere days before it was to begin. However, due to extreme community backlash, Nintendo withdrew their attempt hours later. It was later revealed that Nintendo was also attempting to shut down the Melee portion of the tournament altogether.
