A Poppant (ポッパラム, Popperam) is an enemy introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Poppants are rare, and their trousers are full of presents and candy. They run away from the player, scattering objects in their wake. Some of these objects will hurt the player if they hit them, making its pursuit more difficult and its trophy especially difficult to obtain. It sometimes leaves food in its run, and when defeated drops mostly healing items. It can also drop weak random items.

Poppant
A creature with a uniquely shaped lower body, where it carries boxes that look like gifts and candies. The boxes are even carefully tied with ribbons. It demonstrates its generosity by scattering its boxes as it wanders, but if it's seen, it will immediately flee at top speed. It redefines the word shy. No one knows why it spends its time scattering presents.

Poppants reprise their Brawl role and behavior. They are still very rare enemies, and among other items, they can drop custom parts.

NTSC These enemies first appeared as part of the Subspace Army in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They're known for storing a lot of items and food. They're also painfully shy, fleeing the moment they see a fighter, dropping items as they go. Catch them quick for some serious rewards!
PAL These rare enemies first appeared in the Subspace Army in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Their bucket-shaped trousers are packed with food and items. They're not keen on sharing, though, so as soon as they see you, they'll bolt, carelessly dropping items as they run. Chase after them for custom parts and other goodies!
