Venusaur
Venusaur (フシギバナ, Fushigibana in original Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
Creature description
Venusaur is the fully-evolved form of the Grass-type Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Red & Blue, and their GBA remakes Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen, which begins with Bulbasaur and continues with Ivysaur. Venusaur appears as a giant turquoise toad. It´s most prominent feature is a huge pink flower on it's back, Attacks like SolarBeam, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder or Toxic can be launched from this flower. Venusaur is also capable of creating Earthquakes or striking with a powerful Double-Edge.
In Super Smash Bros.
As a stage element
Venusaur is one of five Pokémon which appear on the Saffron City stage in Super Smash Bros. He attacks with several green projectiles, which may be Razor Leaf or Solar Beam.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
As a Poké Ball Pokémon
Vensaur makes an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee and comes out of Poké Balls. Venasaur uses Earthquake as his attack. The ground around Venasaur will shake and the player will see debris coming out of the ground to indicate the attacks radius. Any character that touches the ground within Earthquake's radius will take damage. The character is also forced towards the top of the screen and have a high chance of dying at high percentages. Venasaur's attack does not harm the summoner.
As a stage element
A giant balloon of Venusaur (in actuality the 3D model of Venusaur used in Pokémon Stadium for Nintendo 64) is one of the many floating and bending "platforms" that comprise the Poké Floats stage.
As a trophy
Venusaur features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches. It reads as follows:
- Venusaur
- Evolving from Ivysaur, this deceptively toxic Pokémon has a huge flower on its back that emits a cloying fragrance: the scent lulls its enemies into a state of calmness. Venusaur's flower synthesizes sunshine into pure energy for its Solarbeam move. Think of Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon and Venusaur comes first. (Pokémon Red & Blue 09/98)
