Ted (クマ, Kuma) is a character that originates from the Ted movie franchise.

Origin

In Ted, a young boy named John Bennett gets a jumbo-sized plush teddy bear named Ted for Christmas and wishes for it to come to life, the wish coincides with a shooting star, bringing the bear to life and making John and Ted celebrities for a brief time. I can't describe the rest of the film because it is not suitable for good little boys and girls.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

As a background character

When the Quahog stage is using its Ted design due to the Thunder Buddy theme from that film playing, Ted makes a small cameo on a screen, being shown smoking marijuana inside a TV; this is based on a recurring character trait of his.

Trivia

• The Mii wearing the Ted Hat seen in promotional material is sometimes seen alongside Epona from The Legend of Zelda series. This is a reference to the famous "Normal words, but a horse guy" gag featured in the Family Guy episode Disney's the Reboot.
