Natural combo

A natural combo is a sequence of attacks that can only be performed by pressing a particular combination of buttons. They can be found in all three games. Natural combos are sometimes, but not necessarily, combos; the sequence of attacks is not guaranteed to hit the opponent if the first hit connects. The most common type of natural combo is performed by pressing neutral A repeatedly; most characters will perform multiple attacks (such as Mario's jab, jab, kick), and some characters will launch into a rapid A attack.

Marth and Roy's forward B attacks are also natural combos; after the first strike, players can press up B or down B for three more attacks, each time yeilding a different attack. In addition, Link and Young Link's forward smash in Melee is a two strike natural combo, performed by pressing "A" again after the first strike.
