Trivia
- The name and description of this event match imply that this event alludes to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, the first official Mario and Sonic crossover.
- This is the only co-op event which has one of the players to use the same character a second time (Mario); Mario who was used in the first co-op event Co-Op Event 1: Two Trouble Kings. Mario was used twice in the co-op events; the first time in Co-Op Event 1: Two Trouble Kings and the second time in Co-Op Event 19: Sonic and Mario.
- Like the final solo event (Event 41: The FINAL Final Battle), this co-op event has mascots from the companies. In this co-op event it's Mario (the mascot of Nintendo); and Sonic (the mascot of Sega).
