Trivia

Mythra's spirit costume as shown in Xenoblade Chronicles 2
  • The artworks for both of Mythra's spirits are slightly altered from their original appearances, adding clothing to cover up her cleavage and legs; this was likely done to avoid raising the game's age rating, as Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has a higher age rating than Ultimate in most regions. Prior to Ultimate's release, this edited design was added into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as an optional costume for Mythra, and was later used as the basis for her model as a fighter.
    • Pyra's spirits are left uncensored, even though Pyra's fighter model was given tights in order to cover up her legs and hips.
  • None of the spirits originating from Xenoblade Chronicles X make an appearance in World of Light.
  • Prior to the addition of the River City spirits, Riki did not contain the series title in his name. He was updated to be differentiated from the character of the same name from the River City series.
  • Rex is the first spirit to:
    • Gain the ability to be enhanced through an update.
      • Due to this, the Rex (Master Driver) spirit is the only enhanced spirit that is not listed directly after its regular form (though prior to the 1.1.0 update, King Boo was listed between Poltergust 5000 and Polterpup rather than being listed directly right after Boo).
      • Furthermore, the Rex spirit loses level if at Level 99 prior to the update.
    • Change the stage the spirit battle takes place on if DLC is purchased. Sophia would later gain this honor in version 12.0.0.
    • Change its battle condition if DLC is purchased - in this case, the lava floor has been removed.
  • During Sakurai's presentation on Pyra and Mythra, the spirits of Pneuma and Rex (Master Driver) were pixelated out to avoid spoiling the end of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
  • Pneuma's spirit artwork, like several prior spirits, is original to Ultimate because she did not have official artwork for Xenoblade Chronicles 2; however, because she lacks an Ultimate model like similar spirits, Pneuma's artwork is instead an original illustration by Masatsugu Saito, the lead designer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
  • The Xenoblade series is the second series after Pokémon to introduce a Legend class primary spirit as part of DLC; in this case, Rex (Master Driver) and Malos were added.
    • In addition, this is the first to have a Legend class Primary spirit on a DLC Spirit Board. Therefore, it is the first DLC spirit board with multiple Legend class spirits.
  • Poppi α is the third spirit to gain a spirit battle on a DLC Spirit Board after previously being summon-exclusive, with the first two being Ribbon Girl and Ninjara.
  • Pyra and Mythra's support spirits are the only Xenoblade Chronicles 2 spirits that do not appear on the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC Spirit Board. This is likely due to Pyra and Mythra themselves being playable characters, similar to Min Min's primary spirit being absent from the ARMS DLC Spirit Board for the same reason.
  • Tatsu is the only spirit originating from Xenoblade Chronicles X that has a Spirit Battle (thus excluding Formula, who lacks one) that doesn't use Xenoblade Chronicles Medley for its music, instead using Gaur Plain.
  • Rex, Tora, and Mòrag are the only spirits in World of Light to be affected by DLC.
  • In both the Spirit List and the battle screen, Noah & Mio's spirit is missing its series name for unknown reasons. This is also the case with the spirits for The 13 Sentinel Pilots and Zagreus.
