In SSB4, he is considered to be the best Ike player in the world, and one of the best Corrin and Roy players. He also occasionally uses other characters in local tournaments such as Palutena and Lucina. He is mostly known for his performance at The Big House 5 (the 7th largest SSB4 tournament of all time), where he placed 17th along with fellow Ike players San and Ryuga, and at MLG World Finals 2015, where he placed 7th. At Super Smash Con 2016, Ryo demonstrated his prowess with his former main in Melee, Roy by almost defeating Abadango and forcing him to counter-pick Rosalina & Luma before being eliminated at 9th.
