#smashwiki
Had a net split, but the problem is that ChanServ never returned, and I also can't invite it. Could you get in contact with gamesurge to get it back? Serpent King 18:36, 21 April 2016 (EDT)
- If your Chanserv quit it's because there was a net split or it was taken down while the staff work on it. Don't worry it should be back once the split is over but if it is not back after the split is over then just join #support and tell them you lost your Chanserv during the split. This also applies to Authserv, if Chanserv is gone Authserv is aswell so that is why you can't auth. Just wait for both to return. This assumes that the staff have already fixed the issue or finished updating the service. It'll be fixed eventually; if other servers have their Chanserv back, you can go to #support and ask for help. MegaTron1 18:44, 21 April 2016 (EDT)
- Serpent doesn't have access to #support's HelpServ either, so this is a big issue. Disaster Flare (talk) 18:46, 21 April 2016 (EDT)
- K I'll wait for a few hours then do that. Serpent King 18:46, 21 April 2016 (EDT)

User:Penro/WelcomeIP
I created a page to make a template for telling IPs to make an account, similar to our current welcome template. Do you believe it's good enough to be implemented as a template, and if so, can I move it to the templatespace? If not, what changes would you make? Penro 18:53, 23 April 2016 (EDT)
- I'm not Toomai, but, it looks nice. It could have SmashWiki's logo if people here think that's a good idea. -- Ethan(Discussion) 18:58, 23 April 2016 (EDT)
Editing an article with inaccurate information
How do I edit an smashwiki page that has inaccurate information? Ive tried to do it but when i refresh it, it goes back to its original text. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teamdeadlyalliance (talk • contribs) 16:58 24 April 2016 (EDT)
- Not Toomai, but since he's offline, I might as well answer. It did go through according to the page history, but I changed the page to add a move tag a bit after and was starting with an older edit. Sorry :/ Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 17:03, 24 April 2016 (EDT)
Final Smash change displayed as buff/nerf or change
I changed all of the buff/nerf templates for every final smashes in SSB4 character pages to change templates. I did it because final smashes do not affect competitive play which Disaster Flare said in this edit. But he changed it to that because Mewtwo received a final smash, which everyone received and thus makes it a change since they "cancel out", if you will.
I am also wondering about Smash 64 characters receiving side specials (or other things they may recive) in Melee, as everyone received them. If I didn't explain what I am trying to say well and it doesn't make sense, I can try to elaborate. -- Ethan(Discussion) 17:01, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
Considering Side specials, pummels, up throws, down throws, wall jumping, chargeable smash attacks, etc. DO affect competitive play, those should stay as buffs. Final Smashes however, DO NOT affect competitive play (except for one Special exception), and therefor should probably be laid as changes. -- 20MK_MetaKing #20MK 20:41, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
Here's my take, for what it's worth: everyone gaining a type of move in a Game 1 -> Game 2 situation isn't a buff. A Final Smash becoming more or less powerful from one game to the next is a buff or nerf. Those terms aren't exclusively competitive. Miles (talk) 20:49, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
I begin to feel that Changes for Final Smash may have to do with competitive play and not outside of competitive play. Unless final smash is allowed (which is very unlikely), I see Final Smash buff and nerfs are irrelevant and can be listed as a change. But we'll see for actual answers about classifying final smash. Buff isn't always a buff; nerf isn't always a nerf. There is exceptions what I found. Luigi540 (talk) 23:26, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
What Miles said is pretty much the ideaology I was following as well. If everyone gets a new move (side specials, zairs, Final Smashes), or a mechanic has been removed from the game (wavedashing, gliding, slow edge attacks), it's not a buff or a nerf (outside very specific situations, like maybe Luigi being nerfed indirectly because wavedashing was so core to him in Melee). Otherwise, it probably is a buff or a nerf. Whether it's important to competitive play is usually of minimal importance - this wiki is not based solely on competitive play. Toomai Glittershine The Loony 23:30, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
- So moves like side specials should be listed as a change, Final Smashes as buffs/nerfs and receiving a Final Smash as a change? Or are we having Final Smash buff/nerfs be changes since they don't affect competitive play? Also, the removal of gliding and stuff like that is a nerf since only a few characters can do this in Brawl. -- Ethan(Discussion) 00:55, 27 April 2016 (EDT)
- Buffs are buffs and nerfs are nerfs, competitive play or not; the only exception is when a new global mechanic means all characters get a new move or lose an old one. Though gliding specifically I could understand listing as a nerf because it was so exclusive. Toomai Glittershine The Free 09:22, 27 April 2016 (EDT)
- So want me to change all side specials and stuff like that to changes? -- Ethan(Discussion) 12:13, 27 April 2016 (EDT)
- If you want to I guess. It's less a deal to me than things like "no sub-bullets" or "order by moveset, not by buffs then nerfs". Toomai Glittershine The Altruistic 10:16, 28 April 2016 (EDT)

Priority on attacks
We already know there are attacks that cannot rebound and attacks with trascendent priority, but a quick question: is there any attack that is both trascendent and cannot rebound in SSB4? -- BeepYou, a user with no grammar at all :v (talk) 18:28, 30 April 2016 (EDT)
- Oh yeah, tons of stuff, in all games that have rebound. Most characters have several of them, mostly floor/edge attacks, collateral throws, and Final Smashes. Quick scan suggets that most items also can't clang and can't rebound. That being said, whether it's useful to note is questionable, since if something can't clang it can't rebound anyways (and I don't think there's any other mechanic that cares). The CAPTCHA
It still uses Brawl artwork. Now that Brawl has faded into obscurity, any chance of updating it to use SSB4 artwork? RickTommy 10:15, 1 May 2016 (EDT)
- I don't think I have any control over the CAPTCHA; Porplemontage (talk•contribs•logs) probably does. Toomai Glittershine The Sphere 10:15, 2 May 2016 (EDT)
Added an interesting Easter Egg in Ryu's Smash 4 page.
Apparently, Ryu's Smash 4 CG art makes an appearance in Street Fighter V's in-game menu. I put the easter egg in the trivia section, if you're interested. Falconian Leader (Enter the Leader's Office) 13:06, 5 May 2016 (EST)
- That might look better if put here, actually. It's interesting that they used the SSB4 artwork. John PK SMAAAASH!! 13:42, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
Account
I was unable to access my old account using any of my traditional passwords and had deleted the linked email address in lieu of my current one for personal reasons. May you please delete my old account and rename this one to my old username? Would be greatly appreciated. Chilex1 (talk) 16:41, 7 May 2016 (EDT)
- I think I can merge the old account into the new one and then rename the new one, which should transfer contribution history while keeping the new account's password/email. I'm going to try it. Toomai Glittershine The Spark 10:27, 8 May 2016 (EDT)

Angle pics
Hey Toomai, Serpent King tells me you're working on uploading some new images for hitbox table angles. I'm really eager to start creating the new SSB4 moves pages I've been working on, but I can't do that until I have all the angles I need. The most common one I'm running into is 169, for whatever reason. Anyway, when were you planning on getting those? CpnFlacon (talk) 08:40, 12 May 2016 (EDT)
- I see discussion on your talkpage, I'll keep it in that section. Toomai Glittershine The Producer 09:12, 12 May 2016 (EDT)
Wikia Stuff
Do you have a copy of the conversation the Wikia userbase had about whether or not we'd jump ship to a new host? I'm fairly certain that it was labelled as SW:WIKIAFREE or something. Before you check the Wikia, I already scanned it; conversation's no longer there. MegaTron1 18:49, 12 May 2016 (EDT)
- I know there was once a page called [SmashWiki:The new Wikia-free SmashWiki], with SW:WIKIAFREE as probably a shortcut, but I can't find a record of it. Shame. Toomai Glittershine The Honcho 19:21, 12 May 2016 (EDT)

I don't find this an unacceptable username, so this won't be an auto-change. Remind me in a few days to get it done. Toomai Glittershine The Orchestral 23:22, 28 June 2016 (EDT)

A name change and a question
Can I be renamed Donald Trump, as long as the original is merged into The Spam Account. And can I put game icons on my user page? TabuuandMasterCore 10:07, 19 July 2016 (EDT)
- 1. The Spam account is not really used 2. Potentially insulting name 3. Try editing this code for what you need <div id="ArticleIcons" style="position:absolute;z-index:100;right:10px;top:-32px;float:right">[[File:HalloweenBlack.png|25px]][[File:Rollback.png|25px|link=SmashWiki:Rollback]]</div> 99.45.253.231 10:18, 19 July 2016 (EDT) (DekZek, my iPad isn't letting me log in for some weird reason, I am getting the message "There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Yeah that's not a name change I'm making. And I recommend you don't do anything to your userpage that makes it look too much like an actual article. Toomai Glittershine The Boss 10:43, 19 July 2016 (EDT)
I have another name idea if that's possible. Megalodon966. I love the Sharks called Megalodons and it's what I go by on games these days. TabuuandMasterCore 13:24, 19 July 2016 (EDT)
- And why does this user have the stuff that's normally in articles? And how can I specialy put it there with removing the article part of the game icons but with it made for userspace only? TabuuandMasterCore 01:57, 21 July 2016 (EDT)
