Super Nebulous 3, or "Super Nebs" for short, was a Super Smash Bros. Melee regional tournament held by Hectohertz, MattDotZeb, emilywaves, $LED, and RUSH in New York, New York, on April 25th-26th, 2015. There were 198 singles entrants, with some players being flown across the United States to play. The Melee Games Regional Finals and Grand Finals were featured the first day of the tournament. Some players' flights were funded through Melee Games donation drive, through smash.gg.

The tournament was Jeapie's first tournament in the United States and Hax's first tournament after his hand surgery. Super Nebs also featured a Falcon round robin between 6 top falcon mains.

The top 8 commentary was notable for being done by HomeMadeWaffles and Prog (who was retired at the time), and was much less formal compared to other majors at the time.

Notable Results:

Round 1 Pools:

  • In Pool A3, MD/VA player Ace of Flakes, a Jigglypuff main, beat The Moon, a Marth player who was a contender for Top 8. However, it should be noted that The Moon was not using Marth but was using Fox instead, though this is mostly since The Moon does not like the Jigglypuff/Marth matchup. (Match Score: 2-0)
  • In Pool A4, the Fox player SG, from MD/VA, defeated DJ Nintendo, a top Tristate Fox player. However, it should be noted that DJ Nintendo was using his secondary, Bowser. (Match Score: 2-1)
  • In Pool A10, Game & Watch player Qerb defeated top New England Peach player Mafia. (Match Score: 2-1)
  • In Pool A12, Son2, the top player and Falco main from Northern New Jersey, defeated top MD/VA Luigi player Vist. (Match Score: 2-1)
  • In Pool B10, Donkey Kong player Phish-it defeated Dutch Captain Falcon player Jeapie. (Match Score: 2-0)

Round 2 Pools:

  • In Group 2, top Tristate player Codi failed to make it out of pools after losing to Jeapie (2-0) and Bolt (2-1). It should be noted however that Codi almost managed to defeat Lucky, bringing him down to last game, last stock with his Falco.
  • In Group 4, Tristate Ice Climbers player Frycook defeated Zhu. (Match Score: 2-0)
  • In Group 5, top Peach player DoH failed to make it out of pools after losing to KirbyKaze (2-0) and Velocity (2-0). It should be noted that DoH had, in Round 1 pools, managed to defeat Ralph, who then went on to obtain an impressive 9th place victory in the final bracket.
  • In Group 6, there was a three-way tie between Nintendude, The Beer Man/Lambchops, and Mafia (Nintendude had lost 2-1 in Peach dittos against Mafia, who lost to The Beer Man's Falco, who lost to Nintendude's Ice Climbers). In order to determine the top two seeds, the three players had to play a mini round robin. Nintendude lost again against Mafia in Peach dittos, and The Beer Man lost in the runback against Mafia. Nintendude then went on to eliminate The Beer Man from the tournament.
  • In Group 8, Son2 failed to make it out of pools after losing to Ace of Flakes (2-1) and DJ Nintendo (2-0).
  • In Group 9, SG failed to make it out of pools after losing to Alan (2-0) and The Moon (2-0).
  • In Group 10, Vist failed to make it out of pools after losing to Swedish Delight (2-0) and Delphiki (2-1).
  • In Group 12, Jeapie defeated top Tristate Falco Zanguzen. (Match Score: 2-1)
  • In Group 14, NorCal/Tristate Ice Climbers dizzkidboogie defeated #1 Power Ranked New England player Slox. (Match Score: 2-1)
  • In Group 15, top Tristate player JFlex failed to make it out of pools after losing to HomeMadeWaffles (2-1) and Donkey Kong player Green Ranger (2-0).
  • In Group 16, Tristate player Ryobeat failed to make it out of pools after losing to RaynEX (2-1) and Ralph (2-0).
