Shy Guys (Japanese: ヘイホー, Heihoo) are found in the Yoshi's Story stage of Super Smash Bros. Melee. They can also be found in certain stages in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Character description
A Shy Guy in Super Smash Bros. Melee takes the appearance of a classical Shy Guy from the older Mario games. The Shy Guys in Melee wear red clothing. They have black belts around their waists and wear blue shoes. They have propellers on their backs that allow them to fly around. The most notable feature of the Shy Guys are the white masks they wear. The white mask has two holes for their eyes and another hole for their mouths. The modern version of Shy Guy appears in the Mario Circuit stage of Brawl.
Shy Guys appear as both an enemy and an ally in the Mario games. Shy Guys originally appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as common enemies. They also appeared as an enemy in games like Yoshi's Story and also come in different varieties. Shy Guys also appear in the Mario sports titles. One was a playable character in the games Mario Power Tennis and Mario Superstar Baseball. Shy Guys also appear as a host and supporting characters in the Mario Party series.
Super Smash Bros.
Fly Guys sometimes appears as background characters on the Yoshi's Island stage.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Shy guy appears as both an enemy and a trophy in Melee. The subspecies of Shy Guys, the Fly Guys, can sometimes appear on Yoshi's Island, carrying food that can be dropped by attacking them. A trophy of them can also be obtained. Particularly known for constantly gimping Ness, who uses a projectile to recover.
Trophy description
Trophy #243
There are many types of Shy Guys: they've been known to walk on the ground, fly through the air, traipse about on stilts, wear flowers or camouflage, throw balls, swing balls, swing bats, sail on pirate ships, carry fruit, do the Bamboo Dance, ride submarines, play guitar, play tennis, wear red, come in large or small sizes, steal people's toys, cause mischief...
Game: Super Mario Bros. 2 [10/88]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Shy Guys that can be seen driving Go Karts appear as Mute City-style hazards in Mario Circuit and Fly Guys can be seen flying in Yoshi's Island, carrying food. The Fly Guys are famous for constantly gimping both Ness and Lucas, who use projectiles to recover.
Trophy Info
A character in a white mask with black eyes and mouth that appears in a number of Mario and Yoshi games. Although Shy Guys' actions are varied--from flying to carrying objects--their true faces are still a mystery. If only for an instant, who wouldn't want to see an unmasked Shy Guy?
