Please move Rosalina (SSB4) to Rosalina & Luma (SSB4). That's the official name, and a majority of users agree. Thank you. ...a new NuttaNutta's Mallo sig.pngis approaching... 19:55, 14 August 2014 (EDT)

Remember our discussion about choice in game design?

L canceling does indeed open up choices. I can indeed verify from experience that you need to time your L cancels differently depending on your spacing.--BrianDon't try me!Falco.gif 02:10, 15 August 2014 (EDT)

An option requiring skill to execute does not mitigate always being the superior option. Compare teching - it's sometimes the right choice to intentionally fail a tech, whereas there is never any benefit to intentionally not L-cancel (at least in Melee; in SSB64 you have to not L-cancel if you want landing hitboxes because it skips instead of reducing, though this by itself doesn't really balance it out). Roster Leak

So, does that warrant writing into the Leak page, mentioning it in the news section on the home page, etc.? MarioGalaxyTalk 13:24, 25 August 2014 (EDT)

The leak is now 100% confirmed. Get it off the rumours page and onto the leak page. I dunno if leaks should be news'd though. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Free 13:25, 25 August 2014 (EDT)

Since you're usually the go-to guy for series icons, are you working on one from the Monado icon in the video? Miles (talk) 15:00, 25 August 2014 (EDT)

I could give it a try, but it's blurry as all get out, so it might be wildly inaccurate. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Boss 15:03, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
There's a decent angle on it in the thumbnail to one of the videos, if you think it's enough to work from. It's just a bit easier not to have to work around not having a symbol. Miles (talk) 15:09, 25 August 2014 (EDT)

Looks like a higher-quality version may be in order when you have the time to work on it. Hardly pressing, but worth doing at some point. Miles (talk) 08:55, 29 August 2014 (EDT)

On the subject of icons, we have a confirmed Tomodachi icon now. Miles (talk) 03:12, 5 September 2014 (EDT)

Noticed, will deal with. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Prismatic 09:40, 5 September 2014 (EDT)

Series symbol requests

Hello! I may be posting in the wrong area (move if needed) but I see you are the one in charge of the series symbol artwork. I'm here to inform you of other symbols seen in the Smash games that have not been done here. First of, the symbol Metal Mario uses in 64. 2697E5D6AF732F4D954F8E0A954A4020_zps07d59376.png . Since it's a small image (I ripped it straight from the game), here's the regular Super Mario symbol in the same size to help (also ripped by me) SuperMario_zpsc377e94f.png . Next, is the "?" used when you highlight Random on 64's stage select screen (also ripped by me) F651EDAADB6917900A1596E605451D02_zpsc904cec0.png . And finally, it's worth noting that the EarthBound/Mother symbol changed from Melee to Brawl (left is 64/Melee, right is Brawl) EarthBoundA_zps1cca6430.png EarthBoundB_zps61b16c54.png Do note, unlike the 64 stuff, I didn't rip these but found them online (Spriters-Resourse).

I hope this was informative. And I apologies if I used User Talk incorrectly (still rusty on that part of Wikis). WarioBrose (talk) 17:30, 26 August 2014 (EDT)

I am aware of these. Here's why I haven't done anything with them:
  • The method I use to create the symbols cannot handle arbitrary gradients. We probably should have a screenshot of the metallic mushroom symbol, but as a series icon, I don't think the effort would be justified.
  • I don't think the SSB64 random stage icon is important - it's just a generic question mark.
  • It's my opinion that the changes in the EarthBound symbol are not significant enough to warrant the effort needed to create the older version.
I'm open to debate on these opinions, but they're why things are how they are as of right now. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Eggster 19:59, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
Alright, thank you for the response. All of your points are good and understandable as the symbols I posted don't have significant priority compared to the rest. I'll just leave this request on hold indefinitely until more people agree with me and want them (which I have doubts this will happen anytime soon). Again, thank you for responding. WarioBrose (talk) 20:16, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
I agree with WarioBrose. Toomai, couldn't you just crop out the black space on those icons? The differences are small (as with the DK logo difference in transition from Melee to Brawl, and you had no problem uploading those), but still important. Also for Metal Mario's image, WarioBrose, if you could get a larger image, it could go on M. Mario's page and the logo page. Blue Ninjakoopa 21:36, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
Blue Ninjakoopa, I wish I could get a bigger image but that image was dumped directly from the ROM (when Metal Mario is on the battlefield) so none exists (unless you want one made from scratch). Though you I agree with you a good bit on EarthBound. WarioBrose (talk) 22:24, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
Awesome. Now Toomai, there's no rush, but at the same time, could you not brush this off? The difference between the Earthbound icons should be shown on the series symbol page. Blue Ninjakoopa 16:13, 28 August 2014 (EDT)
I am indeed considering it. It's low priority at the moment though. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Producer 18:23, 28 August 2014 (EDT)
I don't see why we'd need to painstakingly recreate the Melee Mother icon when we can just rip WarioBrose's image and dump it on the Series symbol page. Is there really a good reason stopping this from happening? Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatum 04:43, 1 September 2014 (EDT)

Liquipedia / loop extension

Hi, I don’t know how you feel about helping with liquipedia smash, but I recently copied your FrameStripEnd template to it, but it still isn’t displayed properly. Apparently because the loop extension could not be installed. Do you know how to do this? Are you interested in becoming an admin at liquipedia so you can add cool stuff there? Someone said there current admin is too busy. Kadano talk 12:54, 31 August 2014 (EDT)

Extensions are a server-side matter; all I know is that someone with server access has to add/edit some files from the MediaWiki source. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Yoshi 13:10, 31 August 2014 (EDT)

Swiss Flag

The reason I changed the image of Switzerland's flag to a much bigger file size was because it was tagged as a low quality image because it "needed better proportions". Seeing as how the flag itself is shaped like a square, I assumed that it meant that the image needed to be bigger. Guess I was wrong. Sorry about that. Nymbare and his talk 10:40, 7 September 2014 (EDT)

Yeah I don't really know why that tag was there in the first place, because the flag was already correctly-proportioned. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Aurum 10:41, 7 September 2014 (EDT)
I tagged it because the proportions were slightly larger than other flags (i.e. see here), but if that is how it's supposed to be, then never mind. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 10:44, 7 September 2014 (EDT)

Removed Characters (SSB4)

I'm guessing the reason it was made is because we have the exact same type of template for cut veterans from melee, being "Category:Removed_characters_(SSBB)", which hasn't been deleted since 2008, so I'm suggesting we bring back the template. Laikue (talk|contribs) 16:43, 12 September 2014 (EDT)

Quick Question.

I am running into a small consistency issue with the Special Moves. Some of the pages have the manual desciptions of the moves, and of the pages that do, some of them are displayed as quotes at the top of the page (the method I prefer to use) and some have the descriptions getting their own section in the article itself. Which of these should be used as the standard? I'll be going through a good number of the Special Move pages, so I would like to have them be as consistent as possible. And as for where the Customization sections are placed, I've been trying to keep them higher up in the article, above the non-gameplay related sections. I digress, though. Toymakers Creation (talk) 15:52, 16 September 2014 (EDT)

Personally I don't understand why people are so obsessed with having quotes at the top of pages. If it's important to the article, it belongs in the article; if it's not important, it doesn't belong anywhere. Specifically, for instruction manual blurbs, I really don't think they should be page-top quotes because there can be more than one, which just inflates the page header and looks silly. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Sphere 17:00, 16 September 2014 (EDT)
It's a wiki thing. Lots of wikis put quotes from whatever work that describes the topic of the article, and for Smash the best way to officially do that is by quoting the blurb. It's also a nice way to get a quite, laconic summarization, so I can see why they would want them there. My only issue with is is the aforementioned lack of consistency. I suppose the larger discussion would be whether or not the blurbs deserve to be placed at the top and if it's smart design-wise to do so. Autoconfirm

Hey, I was told to drop you a message about this on the irc. I've had my account since (at least, maybe earlier than) April and have made a couple edits on the wiki, but haven't received any kind of autoconfirm in that whole time, which is preventing me from making some edits to a few SSB4 character pages. What do I need to do to make it happen? Thanks Aurist (talk) 22:45, 16 September 2014 (EDT)

See this and you'll understand that you've only met ONE of the two requirements to become autoconfirmed. In order to achieve that status, you not only need to have had an account for at least a week, (which you've done) but you also need to have made at least 10 mainspace edits, (by that I mean edits to articles on characters, stages, games, etc.). Do that, and you should be good. MeatBall104; Only at your Pizza Hut! 22:59, 16 September 2014 (EDT)
