Uh...why did you supress the redirect? You don't usually do that...BlindColours ...PUNCH!!! 20:04, 9 October 2011 (EDT)
- I dunno. No reason probably. Toomai Glittershine The Wacko 20:06, 9 October 2011 (EDT)
S'up Homeslice continued
Does the "new" SmashWiki have per-user sidebar editing support, like the old wiki had? Also, can you give me admin powers (as I was an admin on the old wiki, and all the old active admins have admin powers on this wiki) or do I have to submit an RfA again? PenguinofDeath 11:45, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- I don't know if individual sidebars are supported. As for your adminship...that's a reaaaaally fickle subject in my opinion. While I think you should get your powers back, there's something in the back of my mind saying "He's been out of the community for a year, he should wait a short time to get back into it first". Any other users care to give their opinions? Toomai Glittershine The Eggster 12:11, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- There's a MediaWiki Extension for it, and it's probably worth getting. And yeah, I wouldn't leap right into it, I'm getting to know the community and the current running of the wiki first. PenguinofDeath 12:20, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- We only have 3 admins and Miles isn't totally active, so having you as an admin would be useful as I see it. BlindColours ...PUNCH!!! 19:15, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- We do need another admin, though PoD hasn't been around for over a year. As such, he'll have to get acquainted with how the community has changed, and show he is going to stick around (unlike Pikamander2, who immediately left after getting his admin powers back), before readmining him. Omega Tyrant 19:46, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- Pikminader2 came back for the browser poll, and said on my YouTube channel that he may be back when SSB4 get it's own version of the DOJO. BlindColours ...PUNCH!!! 20:09, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- Pikamander2 is not active by any standard, though. The fact that he voted on a browser poll and may be back later is irrelevant. PoD should show he'll actually use admin rights and not just leave again like Pikamander2 did. DokteurPain99 20:12, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- I believe PoD should get admin powers, as he used his powers very wisely back when he did have them. Mr. Anontalk 20:33, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- What are you talking about, BC? I check SmashWiki quite frequently. Miles (talk) 20:59, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- I know that, I just don't see you edit as much as OT and Toomai. But you're still very active. BlindColours ...PUNCH!!! 23:21, 10 October 2011 (EDT)
- The reasons being presented in this section are pretty terrible.
- Administrators are appointed for life; no amount of inactivity can result in an administrator losing his position, because (for the majority of cases, including this one) only exceptional users were promoted in the first place. Nobody cares if I, with my powers intact, leave the wiki and then return to start using them again, because everyone knows I know what I'm doing. Why should the standards be different for someone who wasn't around at the time of the move to be grandfathered? I agree that there is no outstanding reason to promote someone who will just leave immediately, but even in that situation, what has been lost? The 5 seconds it took the bureaucrat to restore their rights? Lol. – Emmett 21:54, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
- Yeah after the bit of thinking between the start of this section and here I tend to agree with this. Will fix. Toomai Glittershine The Victorious 22:12, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
Kirby's unused Hammer animations
I was rather sceptical about the animations, which is why I removed it. However, as you, an administrator, put it back in, I am willing to believe it.
As a request, however, could you upload images or a video of these animations? I think it'd help the Hammer page, and it could be added to Beta elements.
That's all. ReiDemon 19:33, 11 October 2011 (EDT)
- I'll look up how to make .gifs and see what I can do. Toomai Glittershine The Superlative 19:39, 11 October 2011 (EDT)
Pain sounds in Brawl
Hey Toomai, do you know how to activate the unused pain sounds in a character's pac file? If so, can you come on IRC, and help me activate them with PSA? I'm trying to create pac files that have these sounds used for each character. Omega Tyrant 10:25, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
- No I don't know. Toomai Glittershine The Honcho 17:23, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
