Sonic and Mario is the seventeenth Co-op event match in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Player One takes on the role of Sonic while Player Two uses Mario. These two face off against other Marios and Sonics, three of each, on Sonic's Green Hill Zone stage. The enemies will appear in alternating order, starting with Sonic. Two appear on the stage at a time, so killing both will result in one of each on the stage.

Strategies

Use the lampost to knock back the other Sonics and Marios as it could possibly mean a KOed.

Fight at the edges of the stage and wait for the opponents to come to you. When you are close enough, grab the opponent and use Sonic's backthrow to do a quick KO. Be careful though for if the opponent is able to land a smash attack on you, your character could be KOed instead. If the character tries to attack before you can grab them, use Sonic's roll to dodge the attack and roll back behind the character before they have a chance to attack again.

For Sonic, use his spindash and homing attack to annoy your opponents and then knock them out with down A, up air, or back throw. For Mario, use his fireballs and FLUDD to annoy the opponents and use Side A and Down A to knock them out.

Trivia

  • The name and description of this event match imply that this event alludes to Mario & Sonic Olympic Games, the first official Mario and Sonic crossover.
