ShinyMark is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Pikachu player from Guatemala. He initially came into prominence during the online era, where he established himself as one of the best Pikachu players in the online metagame, defeating players such as Sparg0, Sonix, MkLeo, Chag, Onin, and Kola. He is currently ranked 16th on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v7, 1st on the Guatemalan Power Rankings, 59th on the UltRank 2022, and 89th on the OrionRank 2022; he was previously ranked as high as 9th on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v4.
Offline, ShinyMark is considered the best player in Central America, and is also considered a hidden boss. He finally had a breakout performance at Smash Factor 9, where he defeated MKBigBoss, sisqui, WaKa, and WaDi in route to a 5th place finish, making him the second Pikachu player to place top 8 at a supermajor; due to this performance and consistently strong results in Central America, many players consider ShinyMark to be the second best Pikachu player in the world after ESAM, or even in contention for the best. Outside of these wins, he has also defeated players such as MkLeo, SHADIC, Ned, Ling, and Andrik, and is currently ranked 1st on the Guatemalan Power Rankings.
Playstyle
ShinyMark is known for his spacing and defensive playstyle with all the characters he plays. With Pikachu, he forces his opponents into tech chases that he can use to follow up on other aerials he uses, which is then used to follow up into edgeguards that other players wouldn't have even thought of before. ShinyMark is also known for his conservative edgeguards, never really overextending his moves whilst being cautious of how much stage control he has which can help him live stocks for a lot longer.
