- Up path: Awards the Pipes trophy. Leads to Up to Speed.
- Right path: Leads to Four Swords Adventures.
- Down path: Awards 500G. Leads to The Big 7650!.
- Left path: Leads to The Destroyer Cometh.
Completing the event without taking any damage awards a Fire Flower Overalls equipment.
Trivia
- The music used in this event, Airship Theme (Super Mario Bros. 3), normally plays on Luigi's Mansion, rather than Mario Galaxy.
- This event seems to mimic the Trouble King events from Melee and Brawl. Melee and Brawl's Event 1: Trouble King and Event 1: Two Trouble Kings both have Mario as the assigned character (though Luigi is assigned in Trouble King 2 and Player 2 plays as Kirby in the co-op version of Two Trouble Kings), both events are the first event in their respective games, and both have Bowser as one of the enemies (the only one in both events from Melee). Like the Trouble King events from Melee and Brawl, this solo event (The Original Heavyweights) is the first event and have Mario as the assigned character and Bowser as one of the opponents.
- This is the only event that opens up more than two paths.
