- In a Mr. Sakurai Presents showcase, Steve's moveset was shown off in detail, alongside the Minecraft World stage and the next wave of Mii Fighter costumes. The release date was confirmed to be on October 13th, 2020.

- In a special presentation, Steve from Minecraft was revealed as the next DLC fighter, with more information to be revealed at Minecraft Live 2020 and Mr. Sakurai Presents.
