Lugia (ルギア, Rugia) is a Pokémon that appears out of a Poké Ball. It is a legendary Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold versions, in the depths of the Whirl Islands. It's Pokédex number is #249.

Appearance

Lugia is almost as big as Ho-oh. It has big white wings and most of it's body is covered in the color white. The stomach area of Lugia is blue along with it's eye color. Lugia is a a legendary Pokémon and is unique for it's species. It is a psychic and flying type Pokémon, the first combination of the two.

Function

Lugia uses Aero Blast as it's attack. Lugia will remain on the screen for a few seconds. Lugia will then fly off the screen and fly to the background of the stage (similar to the movement Ho-oh). Lugia will release it's Aero Blast that will travel around the stage. Any character that makes contact with the blast will take heavy damage and may die at low percentages. Any character that makes contact with Lugia while it's remaining on the stage will take damage. (Similar to Moltres). Lugia is a legendary Pokémon so it's appearance out of a Poké Ball is rare. The chance of Lugia appearing out of a Poké Ball is doubled when the event match Legendary Pokémon is played. Lugia's attack does not harm the summoner.
