Kirby (カービィ, Kābii) has been confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Brawl since the first preview shown at E3 in May 2006. Of all the characters shown, Kirby appears to be almost completely unchanged graphically. It's been speculated that Kirby's U-smash may be stronger, and his attacks may be quicker in general, though nothing is definite.

His Final Smash is Cook Kirby, which is reminiscent of the Cook ability seen in various Kirby games. In the games, Cook Kirby clashes his utensils, tosses opponents into a pot, seasons them, stirs, and finally, health items pop out of the pot. As a special bonus, in the Japanese update for Kirby's Final Smash, the song Shaberu! DS Oryouri NAVI, supposedly from a DS cooking game of the same name, will play.

Role in the Subspace Emissary

In the beginning, a trophy of Mario and Kirby are thrown into an arena. The two come to life and fight. The player chooses the one to play with. After the battle between the two, the victor revives the fallen loser. The two fighters celebrate and wave to the crowd when suddenly, the Subspace Army attacks. Peach and Zelda both come to their aid. After the brief battle, the Subspace Minister shows up accompanied by two ROBs carrying a giant Subspace bomb that is quickly armed. When Mario attempts to stop the bomb, he is ambushed by a giant cannon and blasted away from the stadium. Meanwhile, the two princesses are captured by Petey Pirahna and are thrown into separate cages. Kirby then faces off against Petey. Whichever princess is freed, the other one will be captured by Wario. Afterwards, Kirby and the princess flee the Arena via Warp Star. They are soon chased by the Halberd and are forced to land. Soon after, an Arwing gets shot down, blowing both the Princess and Kirby off the Halberd onto a series of ridges.

After climbing down from the ridges, the princess accompanied by Kirby is attacked and trophy-ized by Bowser. Kirby then meets up with Mario, Pit, Link, and Yoshi, who spot Dedede riding in a bobsled with trophies of their friends. Link fires an arrow at the sled, slightly crippling it as Kirby comes from behind and accidently steals one of the Dedede caps Dedede was keeping for himself.

Kirby then joins his friends in the wastelands, chasing after Dedede.

Event Matches

Pink Ball Repulsion- The Player plays as Meta Knight and has to defeat Kirby on the Battleship Halberd before the flying platform lands.[1] Sleeping in the Eggs- The player controls Yoshi and has to use Egg Lay to put Kirby and Pikachu in eggs simultaneously. [2]
