Darkshad, is an SSB4 Ryu player from Cincinnati, Ohio who competed in his first tournament in January of 2016.

Darkshad's diligence and commitment to improving has resulted with him, in just over a year's time, going from being an unknown wifi Shulk to earning the rank of 44th on the Panda Global Rankings v2, 7th on the Midwest Smash 4 Power Rankings, and 2nd on the Ohio Smash 4 Power Rankings. In 2017 Shad has been very active: attending tournaments through-out the USA, including several Saga's and Genesis in California, CEO, EVO, SmashCon and large regionals through-out the Midwest such as Smash & Splash and the

During 2017 Darkshad has taken sets off of players such as Ally, and Seagull Joe at 2017 Smash Con, CaptainZack and Cosmos at Climax 2, Pugwest, Mr.E, Pink Fresh, at Glitch 3, and both ZeRo and Nairo at GameTyrant Expo 2017. In 2016 Shad took sets off of Larry Lurr, Abadango, MkLeo, Zinoto, Tweek, Samsora, MVD, and Ned.

The highlight of Shads play to date in 2017, has been improved consistency and a clear "step-up" in performance versus a year ago. Finishing 9th at 2017 Smash and Splash, 13th at 2017 SmashCon, a respectable 33rd at CEO, 49th at Genesis, and a marginal 65th at Civil War and EVO highlight "major" performance while regional performance has virtually always resulted in a top 10 finish with wins in Indy, Louisville, Cincinnati, Toledo, and respectable performance (top 10) at Mayheim events in Chicago, and a 3rd place finish at Glitch 3 to name but a few.

As the "summer season" concludes Shad intends to stay very active, and hopefully continue with the positive momentum generated with the Smash Con experience and the "near miss" of making Top 8.

Darkshad is currently sponsored by Events2Compete.
