All-Star Battle Melee (オールスター戦DX, All-Star Match Deluxe) is the 34th solo event match out of a total of 41 in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The player gets to choose who to play as and is put against the eight fighters who were Melee newcomers in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but are now veterans. The player must KO both a starter character and an unlockable character who is a Melee newcomer character (4 starters and 4 unlockables from Melee). There is a short delay when an opponent is KO'd. The player can use this time to KO the other opponent to avoid having to fight 2-on-1. Sheik is also a veteran who debuted in Melee but appears as Zelda.
Trivia
- Appropriately, the track used for this event is Menu (Super Smash Bros. Melee), which normally appears on Battlefield.
- The stage used in this event is Pokemon Stadium in its Super Smash Bros. Melee incarnation. This is likely because just like in Event 29: All-Star Semifinal Regulars (which takes place on Yoshi's Island; and has a Brawl song from the respective universe which is Opening (Super Smash Bros. Melee)) a Yoshi's Island stage has appeared in every Super Smash Bros. game (and Event 29: All-Star Semifinal Regulars takes place on Yoshi's Island; but has the song Menu (Super Smash Bros. Melee)); Event 34: All-Star Battle Melee takes place on Pokemon Stadium; but has the song (Menu (Super Smash Bros. Melee)) because both in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (the 2nd and 3rd installments in the Super Smash Bros. series) a Pokemon Stadium stage has appeared in both of these two games to date and again represents the retro character choices in this match.
