So you wanna know how?[edit]

ok if a male character and a female character have feelings for each other they would approach each other slow and steady they would also look at each other very close. in a sudden death the male or the female would do sucide to show the male or the female character thier feelings and another sign of it is if they follow your character all the time in a taunt match in order to get the male or female characters attetion (yes im not too good at spelling) in my hometown we call it date match or a croutch match. In a date match male characters are usally snake, ike, marth, fox, falco, wolf, and gannondorf. Unusal characters are mario, luigi, bowser, ice climbers, and the pokemon characters. the most common characters for a female character in a date match is samus and zelda the unusal character is peach. so yea if you like to you should make a page about it.

Is this really that common? If so, you should condense this info and add it. -Zixor (talk) 19:06, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

eh well everytime i make a new page the does not violate rules it ends up getting deleted --NWX (talk) 12:03, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Strategies[edit]

As I said before, go take a look at the "Boss Battle Mode" discussion on Miles' talk page. It was decided that strategies don't belong on this Wiki. That is why me and Megatron purged all of the "strategies" sections from all of the events articles as well as other articles on this Wiki with such strategies sections. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 12:04, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

It is true. I knew that someone would complain about it.--Megatron1 (talk) 14:20, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
What is written on these pages is no more opinion than pointing out the strengths or weaknesses of any other aspect. Listing that Mario's Fireballs are a good approach is opinion too, and a valid one. Pointing out that this is one of the most difficult co-op events is pretty darn factual. Explaining the load time information can hardly be considered trivial. Etc, etc. It all belongs on the page. Call it what you will. -Zixor (talk) 16:40, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
I didn't necessarily say that the strategies were wrong, but it was decided that strategies for the events and such didn't belong. Even if they were correct, they are still opinionated. Such a example would be that saying Ganondorf was the best character for event 50 in Melee. Another example would be saying that event 41 in Brawl is the most difficult event in the game. I really don't see how anyone could argue against these, but the fact of the matter is that they are still opinionated. The main reason why the strategies were purged is because this Wiki is an encyclopedia for Smash, not a strategy guide. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:56, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
So, what's my move here? What proof do you require to validate my specific points? I wont argue against this being an encyclopedia, not a strategy guide. My revision was very appropriate, encyclopedic, and factual. -Zixor (talk) 23:05, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
I agree that your edits were well-intended and were certainly not bad edits. It was a well intended edit of my own that sparked the strategy purging. The Boss Battle Mode article had a very poor strategy section in it since I first visited it more than a year ago. One of the strategies listed was quote "Play as Lucario and don't use heart containers until your at 250%". The recommended character attacks section was even worse, with such attacks as Diddy Kong's Peanut Popgun, Warlock Punch, and King Dedede's f-smash being suggested as viable. Having myself beaten Boss Battles on Intense with every character, I am extremely knowledgeable about the bosses and know which attacks to utilized and which to avoid using to gain success. So I decided to utilized my knowledge and overhaul the entire strategy section, especially the recommended character attacks. Then I spent approximately two hours writing two detailed and effective strategies for Marth and Lucario as well as changing the recommended attacks to those that rack up damage as efficiently as possible. For the recommended attacks, I didn't use just my own opinion, I chose the attacks due to their damage output as well as start-up and ending lag. One such example being Ganondorf, as I listed his bair as his most viable attack, due to the fact it does 16% as well Ganondorf being able to perform it in a short hop without any landing lag. Later that day, i noticed that Miles deleted the entire strategy section and since I put in two hours of work into it, I had a discussion with him that Megatron and Clarinet Hawk later joined about if the stategies sections belong. It was concluded that they don't belong on this Wiki so I proceeded to purge them from the Multi-Man and final events articles. Megatron would later join me in purging the strategies from the rest of the event articles as well as the boss' articles. Also, many of these strategies were poorly written such as the example I gave you before and in the Cruel Brawl article, the strategy for Snake said he was invulnerable to knockback from the alloys' attacks while using Cypher, which is clearly false. I may not agree completely that strategies don't belong on this Wiki, but if you believe so, you're better off debating it with Miles or Clarinet Hawk rather than me. Damn dude, Wendy's new guy is smart. EDIT: I realize now practically nobody will get the reference. Thus, I shall summarize thus: ^+1Semicolon (talk) 00:51, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, fair enough; and thank you for your thorough explanation. I completely agree that most event strategies were poorly written and subjective. Most situations are very broad and open to interpretation. In this instance, however, I believe the scenario is far more limited. I think that it is basically irrefutable that standing on the crows nest is the absolute best possible method for clearing this event. There doesn't even have to be a strategy section at all; this can be listed right in the main description. -Zixor (talk) 14:05, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Then go ahead and put it in. If someone else finds it faulted, they can remove it. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 14:35, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that Zixor. just don't say it's the hardest.--Megatron1 (talk) 19:12, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
  • SIGH* -I thought we just had a resolution here. So, talk to me Megatron. Zixor (talk) 19:28, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
I didn't see the resolution. You can continue to add strategies to the main description.--Megatron1 (talk) 13:29, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
.....great. My entire edit was reverted again. So I guess it's basically time for me to start repeating myself, since you didn't want to debate the specific points.

1: It's one of the hardest. -How many tries did it take you? 2: Standing on the crows nest and using up tilts is the absolute quickest way to kill about 16 Yoshis. -Is there a better way? 3: The load time factor can help. -Can it not? 4: Items are generally not as useful as attacks. -Do you agree? Zixor (talk) 12:57, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

I said I understood.--Megatron1 (talk) 13:29, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
...Okay, so, I'm.... reverting it again? -Zixor (talk) 01:57, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
Just do what you did.--Megatron1 (talk) 02:48, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
What?? (as in "are you talking about") -Zixor (talk) 01:40, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
Why?? (as in "are you bumping a three month old discussion") Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:32, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
Zixor was absent for two months and is probably just now seeing this. BNK [E|T|C] 20:12, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks :) I'm not exactly "new" but I appreciate your attention all the same. (-New to trying to fix broken file links, that's for sure) -Zixor (talk) 21:58, 27 February 2016 (EST)

About the broken images you were trying to find[edit]

In this particular case, the culprit was the series of templates used on moveset subpages that is used to display images of the angles of each hitbox. For example, the Sonic page was looking for images of angles 118 and 91, which we didn't have because no other page had needed them before. There's not much that can be done to fix this until I create and upload the correct image, because changing the angle so it displays a (different) image means the page is now incorrect.
