A victory theme, which can be referred to as a flourish, and is referred to as a fanfare in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Sound Test, is a short, recognisable melody, usually a cover, that is played when a character from the same universe as the victory theme wins a Vs. match, or another similar event, such as Tourney victory. For instance, if the character Mario were to win the match, an orchestral cover of a soundbyte from Super Mario Bros. will play out. All characters, except Meta Knight, Rosalina & Luma, Bowser (in Super Smash Bros. 4), Bowser Jr., and Dark Pit, share one flourish across their respective universes, so in the aforementioned instance, Luigi shares the same flourish as Mario. Thus, if Mario or Luigi wins, the same victory theme will still play.
