Ness performs a [[stomp]] attack. The move has moderate [[startup]] and somewhat high [[ending lag]], especially compared to its incarnation in ''Smash 64'', and while it has high base knockback and can catch offstage opponents offguard at very low percentage, its knockback scaling is very small, meaning it is very weak on opponents at high percentages.

Ness performs a stomp attack below him. The move has a decent amount of startup, somewhat high ending lag, and some landing lag, especially compared to its incarnation in Smash 64 so this can be a risky move to use. The down aerial functions as Ness' meteor smash to edgeguard and has very high base knockback when used on opponents at 0% damage but has low knockback scale which it cannot KO until 200% on grounded opponents.
