Cranky Kong is an old member of the Kong family and the grandfather of Donkey Kong. He was also, in fact, Donkey Kong himself in Donkey Kong. Sitting in his cabin at the DK Island, he sometimes gives advice to the player when he/she visits him. In Donkey Kong 64, he is a scientist instead and gives the DK Crew various potions.

In the Jungle Japes stage, he walks back and forth in his old cabin. He also stops sometimes to sit in his rocking chair and rock back and forth. Also, a Erlenmeyer flask and two test tubes can be seen through the window, as a reference to that he was a scientist in Donkey Kong 64.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

He appears as a sticker.
