Alpharad, or simply Alpha, is a smasher from Norman, Oklahoma, who is currently residing in Los Angeles, California, who was put on the map by his series of Super Smash Bros. 4 montages on YouTube entitled How to Play 101, as well as Story for Glory, Challenge Mode, and other series featuring a variety of games. He, along with YouTuber MagicScrumpy, helped develop the Melee mod Silly Melee, which changes every character to have unique moveset changes, along with the addition of new stages. Trivia

  • Occasionally, Alpharad will not take local tournaments seriously, using characters such as Wario-Man during bracket matches or partnering with a random person for doubles matches. He also uploaded a video of him at a tournament playing by himself as Wario-Man in doubles.
  • Alpharad is the first Smash Bros. YouTuber to reach 1 million subscribers (although he has branched out to playing other games), achieving the feat on November 22, 2018.
  • Alpharad started a second Let's Play channel, along with fellow YouTuber Dad as Heck, called Friends Without Benefits. The channel has since added three more YouTubers known as Weegee Plays, Deezus, and Major Duncan, and has reached over 150,000 subscribers.
    • However, on August 21st, 2018, Alpharad announced that he was going to leave Friends Without Benefits, saying he no longer felt that he fit in; he did one more Let's Play with each member of the group before leaving.[4]
  • Alpharad currently has four channels including his main channel, the others being Alpharad Gold (formerly Alpharad Plus and then Alpharad Deluxe), in which he uploads content that is typically unedited; Alpharad Replay, which is used as a stream archive; and Not Alpharad, in which he uploads very short comedy videos and snippets of his life as well as clips from his videos on his other channels.
