Charizard (リザードン, Rizādon: Lizardon) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in a sense; it is one of three Pokémon that are played through Pokémon Trainer, the other two being Squirtle and Ivysaur. Like Pit and Meta Knight, Charizard is able to glide and jump multiple times in mid-air. However, Charizard's glide is somewhat less maneuverable those that of Pit and Meta Knight.
Charizard has a surprisingly fast running speed (tied with Pikachu), though it is true to its speed stat in the Pokémon games. However, it has one of the slowest walking speeds in the game. It is the fifth heaviest character. Charizard cannot be used by the Pokémon Trainer in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary until he battles and captures it.
Charizard also appeared in SSB, and SSBM as a Poké Ball item Pokémon (non-playable).
