Ultimate invitational tournament intended to serve as a replacement for the cancelled Smash World Tour 2022 Championships. It will be hosted by Ludwig on December 18th, 2022. The 8 players with the most points on the Smash World Tour 2022 standings for both games will be invited. Ludwig is also adding "8 more players that we handpick for each game"[1] for a total of 16 players per game.[2] The 1 player with the highest amount of points in a Smash World Tour 2022 region in the overall Top 30 of the leaderboards will be invited if not already qualified.[3] Any replacements for players who can't attend will be handpicked.[4] There will be a pot prize of $50,000 ($25,000 for each game). Declined players
Zain was qualified for Melee, but dropped out due to a family emergency.[7] SluG, a Top 15 player in Melee, could not make it to The Scuffed World Tour or Redemption Rumble.[18]
Tea, a Top 10 Ultimate player from Japan that qualified for the Smash World Tour 2022 Championships in Ultimate, declined to take some time off.[19] Yoshidora, another top player in Japan that qualified for the Smash World Tour 2022 Championships in Ultimate, could not make it to any more overseas tournaments in 2022.[20] He has not attended an overseas tournament yet due to having work and being married, and used his paid time off days for the planned days for the cancelled Smash World Tour 2022 Championships.
